The whole extended delay took lots of hype out of the sails. Now rather than playerbase being excited for new planet, there's air of worry, like "hopefully it will still be good..."
Also... the new Penacony patch really wasn't good. Was I curious about what Firefly was up to while she wasn't around? Yes. Did I think the new update expanded on old content in satisfactory way? Fuck no, this was just retroactively expanding the scope and stakes of story that had already happened, we really don't need two SAVING THE UNIVERSE patches back-to-back.

ZZZ has worse writing by mile, and the dev team doesn't know what the fuck they want the game to be, pivoting to different shit at slightest feedback, changing game mechanics, and switching direction of story.
It is literally liveservice game that I have played which has had unvoiced lines in a patch because the devs hurriedly rewrote bunch of story points.
It also does atrocious job of building up characters long term, so you really don't get invested in anybody before or after their patch. It's pretty hard to find much good to say about the writing, other than some lines being good, and there being some cool moments in vacuum.

Pretty much. I liked Amphoreus, but even I'll admit that it felt like it went on for too long. So players were understandably happy to get out of there, and have change of scenery.
...And now devs are scrambling to remake the next planet WITH TWO WEEKS OF DELAY. Even if it is good, you know there's going to be endless discussion like "Oh man, this part was kind of bad, you can tell they had to remake this, thanks CCP!"

HSR suffers from borderline GPT generated lore and plot points and constant retcons within the same patch, sometimes within the same fucking quest.

I will remind you at this point the sensortower chink "android estimate" multiplier is around x20 so LaD doesn't lose to the global server of pokemon TCG, and even then they are often neck and neck more often than not.
And even then that's by doing combined revenue for all chink game servers while vehemently refusing to acknowledge the pokemon TCG JP server exists, because if they did then PTCG would rape everything by an order of magnitude even with the chink buff multipliers and the JP nerf ones.
