Biggest performance issue with Wilds is the huge ass cpu consumption plus their real time GI takes tons of resources too. Scaling back these two things can create a 20 fps difference or probably even more.
It's still not a pretty game as you can see from the image. Switch 2 version probably runs at 960x540 or less.

Modern engines use deferred rendering - rendering graphics in multiple steps, rather than all at once, supposed to be much more efficient for complex lighting. Deferred rendering can't into transparency.

I still don't get how they can get the game to run on Switch 2 on its current state. The game doesn't play well on a 1050 ti, which is stronger than the Switch 2 on handheld mode. They would need to massively optimize the game to make it run properly.

The LOD changes they made to get the game to run better apply to max settings. Maybe the game can be modded to use the previous settings, maybe not, nobody cares enough to try. But the visuals ARE getting worse with the performance patches.

I don't really mind myself because the game's ugly anyway and runs poorly, but Capcom's nips and tucks are visible.
