Because apparently the creators vision is more important then your own, despite it being your money that buys the game.Hockey equipment doesnt have this problem. Nobody shits on you for cutting an inch off the top of your stick to make it the lenght you like. Nobody cares if you remove one of the straps on a pad if it makes it more comfortable.
