Man, this game is fun. I love rhythm games so much. Let's talk about rhythm games.

>best rhythm heaven game to date is not even a rhythm heaven game
ok just kidding I still prefer rhythm heaven DS but bits and bops was seriously an amazing game, just a bit short and some minigames lacked visual spectacle. I don't know how they did it but even on windows I never felt any input or audio latency while playing it compared to other games where I had to be finicky with setting delays

It made me more excited for rhythm heaven groove. I hope time moves faster

Rhythm game general in /jp/ keeps dying even though a new Voltex came out recently and a new Pop'n within the last week. US arcades should actually be getting the new Pop'n cabs. I see some traffic with Maimai in the US, but not a lot.

Any DanKagu enjoyers here? I have the game on Switch and played it with touchscreen, but I recently double dipped on PC and also got the Season Passes there and I quickly got used to the keyboard layout, but I'm still working on my muscle memory. This game really needs an Extra difficulty between Hard and Lunatic like in the gacha game, the difficulty jump between those two can be really harsh.

Any OG gacha DanKagu players?

Taiko is quite unique compared to other rhythm games in that it never requires multiple inputs at the same time (double-striking big notes only give extra score). I struggle a lot more with games with chords.
>>
I downloaded proseka and bandori recently and I've been having fun playing on my phone but I have to say I really hate swiping motions for notes because of how unreliable it feels
>>
>>729909182
The dev made a crowdfunding campaign after the gacha was EoS'd and it reached its goal in a matter of hours, and it gathered so much money that it reached the Switch version release. It's also a Famitsu thread meme because the physical Switch version got Top 1 during its release week, which was the same week AstroBot got released.

The gacha getting EoS'd is also the reason why I fucking despise DeNA.

It's because music copyright is a bitch, Konami and Sega don't want to release their tracks overseas and won't allow beatmania games to be easily accessible, they missed out on the vtuber boom a few years ago.

The only way you can play them right now is to get access to the beatmania torrent site and then get the hard drive of the game, it's too much work. They should just port everything to Steam or make their own PC client and bring everything, modern zoomers are gacha addicted, they'll spend money on it. They could even sell the cards.

>>
>>729909764
I wish Bemani would release on Steam so I don't have to listen to Korean songs on DJMax and such
>>
>>729909371
You unironically need an expensive phone to play properly. Touch screens on low and midrange phones are actual garbage.
>>
>>729899303
I quite enjoy the aesthetics of Muse Dash and some of the songs are really good but I just can't spend a long time doing 2 track rhythm games. It feels weird, probably because I grew up with mostly 4-5 track but 2 just feels like too few and it forces them to make gimmicks that I don't find enjoyable like invisible notes.
>>
>>729909446
Yeah, I tried to give the game a chance but even when changing the notes to arrows, the way the notes enter the screen is really annoying and confusing. It doesn't help that the game's soundtrack is super outdated so l can only get into like 15% of the songs in the game.

Proseka is not any better because that game is designed with iPad in mind and the higher difficulties are unbelievably retarded. I'll just stick to Muse Dash collabs thank you very much.
>>
I'm rather surprised how much they've actually done to Muse Dash over the years. I remember how barebones it was on release. Glad I got the Just as Planned dlc back then.

It's arguably been that way for the past 15 years with LEDs Prim songs being half of the boss roster. The way I see it, for every vocaloid shit (and some of those are much better than others), you have another song like Makin' It. Otherwise, it's what pays the bills, and I'd rather have that than nothing.

>>729906398
>hasn't that general just been a tranny clique for a while?

Given how much kvetching it has about trannies, I guess it could be projection to an extent. Eh. Usually 50% two word bumps, 49% data leak begging, and 1% something else.

>>729909764
Yeah, but we know that won't be happening. I personally just play BMS(ON) at home, I don't give a shit. I get arcade plays once a week, that's good for me.

>>729905067
25+ years of history is observed and preserved, and throughout all of that time, no matter how badly things were mishandled, they still never completely lost the plot and keep making an overall high quality product every time. Every single time.

>>729908781
Play IIDX. No, seriously. It has 2000+ songs across all various difficulty tiers. There is enough to play through step by step and not play the same 5 songs if you hit a wall. If you want to play sims at home, there are 10K+ BMS charts and there are an abundant number of them which aren't 5000 note spaz fests.

>Is the Taiko game on Steam worth getting?
Depends, how much do you like Taiko? I think the base game is way too expensive for what you get, all the extra game modes are kinda stupid and pointless, so I would only really recommend it if it's on sale. The subscription however is pretty good value if you play regularly and like namco originals.
As a port the game is fine on a technical level, 120fps with no input lag or issues. It also runs fine on the steam deck. But if you're completely new Taiko I would probably recommend the collection of 3DS RPGs that got ported to switch as your first game, they have the most fun single player content.
