I always found the Monument Mythos series & his other works to be the most interesting in this genre for how weird they were. Didn’t always agree with all his choices (Everything involving Alcatraz should’ve been its own separate universe. The goofier bits being “fake news” in the series was a bad call). But they always had something unique to them from the special trees & the world serpent, Nixon on the moon & Analog Supers, opphenimer(s) creating invisibility & their obsession with vaporizing people to do it.But I just don’t have the heart anymore for Mister Manticore… watching him spiral after his father’s death & being taking advantage of at such a vulnerable time (Especially someone who was already known as being sensitive) was genuinely sickening. Has anyone watched his recent content, is it good? Or his declining mental health affecting his work again?
