do millennials enjoy anything? a lot of my friends liked the force unleashed games.
>>
>>729908608
achievements/trophies ruined my video game life for years. I was more interested into completing stupid achievement instead of having fun and playing the way I wanted to play. I remember all those shit achievements after using certain powers on stormtroopers. took me years so stop giving a fuck about achievements.
>>
nah it wasn't hated nearly as much as the empire strikes back upon release
>>
>>729908608
And it was still fantastic fun
>>
>>729908754
Why did you sell your life's work to the white slavers?
>>

>released in 2010
This came out after TCW so Pre-Disney Star Wars had already bottomed out two years before.
>>
>>729908608
It's up there. star wars specials are there too
>>
>>729908608
Every game from the 2000s that was widely considered as bad by basedlord millennials is usually pretty good actually
>>
>>729909038
Except Mario Sunshine, which really did deserve the backlash.
>>
>>729908608
Not nearly as bad TCW or the Dark Nest trilogy, still pretty bad. Also extremely annoying that TFU games retconned a shit ton of the early Rebellion era continuity only to leave a gigantic hole in the timeline where Vader is captured and the Rebellion has two Jedi allies and there's no resolution for that.
>>
>>729908608
There was a sequel? How does that work? I played the first one and thought the DMM physics engine was insane. It is still one of the most advanced even today. Decent game too.
>>
>>729908846
>I remember all those shit achievements after using certain powers on stormtroopers. took me years so stop giving a fuck about achievements.
wow, i feel bad for people who somehow live life on sucb autopilot that they would value arbitrary achievments over their own fun. Genuinely happy for you, learning to value yourself and learn to appreciate games for what they are and stop treating them like some kind of thing to "complete" like some kind of...non game?
>>
>>729909246
>There was a sequel? How does that work?
You play as a clone of Galen Marek and your primary antagonist is the camera.
>>
>>729909138
nah sunshine is great, chuds just couldnt accept that it wasn't mario 64 2
>>
>>729908608
It was alright. Thought the novelization was really good though.
>>729909213
TCW was basically the start of the Disney era yeah. I haven't read Dark Nest in years but I'm sure it wasn't as bad as the Callista trilogy and I say that as a Bantam lover, but I remember thinking they were the worst Star Wars had ever gotten. Pretty sure when I get to them in my EU re-read I'm doing I'll have the same opinion.
>>

I've been reading it off and on for about a year now, including comics. I'm on the AOTC novelization, so in terms of numbers, I'm on 223 out of 678 I think? It's not a perfect one-to-one in terms of numbers because the comics are split up or combined into collections depending on what I could get. To answer your question I'll probably be done in two years or so I think. I'm splitting it up into eras and when I'm done with one I spend a month or so reading non-fiction or other authors. I threw out the TOR shit and the TCW related comics and novels which helped a bit.
>>
>>729909880
Clone wars comics and novels are dope tho. Vader out hunting and killing Jedi is entertaining.

>I threw out the TOR shit
Does that mean you're not doing the Bane trilogy?
>>
>>729909531
I'm not sure if the Dark Nest trilogy is objectively worse than the Callista books, but the issue is that picking up the Dark Nest books after reading NJO is such a massive whiplash in quality that it multiplies the displeasure exponentially, and in terms of damaging the continuity, the Dark Nest books really take the cake since it assassinates so many characters, particularly what they did to Jacen. And don't even get me started on the abominable bug telepathic sex thing, that is in my opinion 1000x cringer than that scene with Luke and Callista.
>>
>>729910215
No I am, the image I posted is what I'm reading, TOR stuff is the novels like Revan, Deceived, etc. anything around the MMO. https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_The_Old_Republic_(novel_series)

only complaint I remember about this game is it was too short and felt unfinished, not about it being cringe or anything

Yes the prequels were bad
But whatever his idea of how the sequels would be, they would've been a MILLION times better than what we got
>>

Oh man I remember some of the Galaxy of Fear books
>>
>>729908754
I didn't like the prequels but didn't hate it either. Feels like movies weren't the right format for it.
>>
>>729910242
Yeah I'll have to judgement call it when I get there. It's been a long time, but I fully admit to having a bias in terms of what I deem the worst. I really might consider the Jedi Prince series the worst the EU has to offer because while I will fully admit to liking a lot of post NJO content, the Denning criticisms are probably more valid than cringing at a trilogy revolving around a one-off character that never went anywhere. Separately, I do also feel now that so much time has passed that the EU ending when it did was most likely the best outcome we could have gotten since George and Filoni were already demolishing it, and they were going to continue to do so. And while I'd have rather Dawn of the Jedi and Knight Errant or the legacy comics would have gotten their due and actually had fully fleshed-out endings, the EU sort of ended right when there was a full cultural reset, and I don't know what that would have looked like in the space.

Supposedly Lucas wanted a story that looked more closely at the role of microbes in the Star Wars universe. That sounds shit, ngl, but with Lucas in the director's chair or somewhere near it, the films would have had the old soul. At the beginning of TFA, Abrams shot a shaky-cam assault scene in the style of Saving Private Ryan, letting us know from the outset that the classical Lucas style of photography was out and cheap Spielberg imitations were in. The influences of Ford and Kurosawa were nowhere to be seen, except in the occasional mindless wipe transition.

>>
>>729910770
Frankly the Denning books aren't bad when isolated besides the Bugs, it's just frustrating seeing everything that was set up at the end of the Vong war get thrown out of the window because Denning wanted to force his favorite ships and really wanted to make Jacen the cringiest edgelord of all time for some God forsaken reason, and his inability to not make everyone catastrophically retarded every other book doesn't help too.

His directing was fine aside from the obnoxious lens flare. The movie was well paced and entertaining to watch. The real problem Trek from that point on is Kurtzman's writing.

>>729910348
Slavers are the people who enslave, White is an adjective modifying slaver. White slavers means slavers who are White.
>>
>>729910348
Slavers who enslave whites
Mostly considered old fashioned today, but during Victorian times through WW1 mostly referred to Ottomans (muslims) enslaving white Christians from the the Near East.
There's also use of it in the USA in the past in reference to the Barbary Pirates of North Africa (who sold to the Ottomans), and infact, was the USA's first foreign deployment of US Marines to the shores of Tripoli and popularized in The Marines' Hymn, often used in US military movies.

>As the first technician—Target Number One—lunged for the emergency alarm to summon security, IG-88 moved with blurring speed to the component-laden table. He snatched up a disconnected droid arm. With its metal fingers splayed like daggers, it made the perfect projectile weapon. He scanned the surface of the metal limb, calculated a flight path and expected deviation due to air resistance, then hurled it like a spear.
>The disconnected droid arm plunged into the back of the turning technician, tore through his spinal column, and followed through his sternum. The lifeless metal hand protruded through splintered bone in the front of his chest, holding the technician’s quivering heart in rigid metal fingers. So I think it's all him. The earlier script probably just said that Anakin enjoys himself as he slaughters the CIS leadership.
I wish they kept the silly puns. I always interpreted the mission to Mustafar as being a reward to Anakin for destroying the Jedi. He fucking hates the CIS leadership for the Clone Wars and his emotions are finally unleashed, thus the Sith eyes in the film. Let the guy style on them as he murders them.

>This was once considered the cringiest, most lowest point Star Wars could go
For people with bad taste. In reality it was cool as fuck and people loved playing it.
>>
>>729908608
It was great. Dialogue was just cheesy enough to be charming.

We even got classic Star Wars memes out of it.
The best the Sequels could do is "They fly now?!" and "Somehow Palpatine returned"

I'm never apologizing, because I always knew disney would ruin everything and that RLM were lazy gen x faggots without any original thoughts. George won in the end.
>>
>>729908803
I'm a millenial and I loved it. The only actual complaints I've heard about it were about him force pulling a star destroyer out of the sky. I've also seen people compare Starkiller to Rey with a
>well Starkiller is also a generic character who is instantly amazing at everything and beats all the cool characters from the movies but people like Force Unleashed and hate the sequels
Which is a stupid comparison because one is just a vessel for the player to self insert and go wild, while the other is supposed to be an important and canon character whom the franchise and its story revolves around.

So yeah basically people here are miserable faggots and Force Unleashed is a cool game.
>>
>>729919924
Starkiller is also incomparable to Rey in the sense that he was trained from childhood by a Sith Lord to utilize the Dark Side (ie he was tortured his entire life to learn to use the Force) while Rey spent her entire life thinking the Jedi were a myth until she suddenly pulls the Force out of her ass.

Dark Rendezvous was my first Star Wars novel. I was disappointed at first of how it added nothing new to what I already know of the canon, but the occasional flirting between hebe Scout and hormone-raging Whie.

I genuinely cannot tell if this is a shitpost or not because the revised version all have absolutely retarded shit in them.

Rey is just a symptom of the rot that runs deep in westoid movie industry right now. She's not one of her kind, just look at Arya from Game of Thrones. Almost the exact same kind of face, same kind of Mary Sue.
>>
>>729919924
>>729920040
It's actually even simpler than that. Rey is a Mary Sue, Starkiller is just overpowered. Rey instantly excels at everything both physically and mentally, the latter struggles throughout the game. Even the infamous Star Destroyer scene wasn't effortless and it wasn't him moving the entire ship through sheer force.

Since 2019 he's filmed one movie called Ghostwriter that is in pre-production and he wrote two episodes of some dog shit show about the first black woman FBI agent.
He got put in time-out for ruining Star Wars.

I know this is bait but it's crazy that disney/TLJ fags actually believe Empire was hated upon release. It was overwhelmingly beloved immediately even by the most hardcore fans.

There's NO coming back from this. Why Disney thought it was a good idea to make the OT all for nothing is beyond me.

People used to shit on the EU back in the 2000s but it's a goddamn masterpiece compared to the Disney storyline

I think it's wild that they just hit the reset button on the setting. Say what you want about how long it took the rebellion to take the core worlds, but it at least felt like permanent progress was being made even when other fuck ups were happening in the galaxy.

They did actually add Vader screaming "No, No, NOOOOOOOO" when Luke is being shocked and he throws The Emperor into the tunnel or whatever the fuck. It was added in the 2011 bluray version and it's been in the movie ever since. I've seen those 4k versions floating around but I'm too lazy to get a VPN.
