Shuyin's hatred towards the world caused his spirit to remain as an Unsent, a wrathful spectre that could possess people, while Lenne's spirit manifested as the Songstress dressphere. When Yuna equipped that dressphere she was temporarily possessed by Lenne's spirit. Shuyin's spirit was unleashed when Youth League members unearthed Vegnagun, and Shuyin set about powering up the superweapon to fire on the world so he could take his revenge.
