Once you get the muscle memory of the tank controls down, anyone with half a brain will be able to find it all quite intuitive. I was playing these games when I was a pre-teen.I do believe the remaster lighting in particular makes the game worse, they completely destroy the atmosphere by over illuminating everything. Tomb Raider is a puzzle platformer however it absolutely leans into horror with moody audio and sometimes pitch black environments.To use an example, I was playing TR2 earlier today and I was in a vent on the Maria Doria, the vent is pitch black so you need to use a flare. The vent is long and backlit, so you can see the bad guy at the end only by his black silhouette and the flash of his gun. You also have to drop the flare to draw your guns, creating drama as your pistols flash and light up the long hall/vent for split seconds.The remaster lighting just has this whole space as dim, rather than black. You can easily see the enemy in the distance as well as the whole space you both inhabit. There is no tension, horror or dramatic lighting.I would suggest the remasters as a way to play the TR games easily, in case you have an issue booting the originals.
