>>729956231I beat the game on Hell and enjoyed it. The fact that you have to learn the possession inputs without the slowdown bullet time grace window is way more rewarding.Impossible is a step too far though, DEF and HP don't matter because you get 1 shot by basically everything. On Hell you can still actually take a hit, not many, but you don't instantly die to 1 mistake. To me Hell is the perfect difficulty.
>>729955317Chapter 3 was when the game convinced me it was great
>>729955317Immediately, but the real answer is about midway through the volcano chapter.

>>729955317Chapter 5 or so is when it really starts taking off, after that is why /v/ starts praising it. It's a slow burn of a game but it never stops ramping up.

I stopped playing when I started living in that dude's house in the futuristic world.Would you say at that point the game is already at its best? I got kinda bored of the repetitive nature of it all.
>>729958606The moment I heard this song, everything about the game clicked with me.
God damn, this shit is getting crazy.
>>729955317For me it clicked at the end of chapter. >>729957980I took on impossible after my first run on normal. While it's more punishing (getting 1 or 2 shot by everything) it forces you to take advantage of every tool in your arsenal (blocking, summon i-frames, rock shield, backstep, ranged weapons, berserk) which makes it more than doable. Basically you have to git gud for the first 4 chapters, until you get Cicada Shell in the demon Lord's castle which gives you a bit of breathing room.I just finished a 2nd replay if the DLC, and it pains me to know we'll never get a sequel. The best we've got is Magicus. It doesn't play anything like Astlibra, but you can tell it's a Keizo game (and its events happen in the Astlibra universe).
I like playing on Difficult because it gives me the satisfaction of knowing I'm playing on a "harder" difficulty but it's still easy.
>>729958635No, the game keeps peaking the kino levels all the way to the very end of the postgame where you fight alongside all your nakamas to save the world.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HolWdat5szo

>>729955317I'm at chapter 7 right now, some stuff:>at the start I went full attack>at chapter 3 I used berserker for a while>later on I just built a more balanced build, as it made playing the game actually fun as I could tank hit and heal with items>at chapter 7 where I am game has become easy as I have giant range weapons just killing shit, bosses still take effort>playing on hell
>>729959802Thanks. Maybe I'll get back into it at some point.
>>729958951I kinda hate this part of the game where the protagonist is silent and doesn't properly react to shit, he knows for sure this is THAT because we do know THAT tooBut he can't argue his case because he is silent thus shit gets delayed to laterEven when she sees THAT unhooded person claiming to be NOT THAT he still is not saying anything
>>729959206The jump from Difficult to Hell is the biggest one for multiple reasons>no slowdown means you can't time iframes as easily and the complex inputs really>enemy damage reaches the threshold where really dangerous hits (typically the telegraphed ones) will one shot you, though you can still take multiple smaller hits especially if you build tankier>because you can't facetank stuff anymore you're forced to interact with all of the boss's mechanics
>>729960139>and the complex inputs reallyreally get annoying when things are hectic I meant. As in, the simple ones still have use later just because they're one motion.
>>729960139I only played in hell, the idea that you pause time when choosing summons is crazy to me
>>729955317I had a lot of fun even from the start, although I do regret not starting with hard difficulty.I fucking love having like 10 different progression systems to constantly upgrading, but normal mode doesn't have the drop rates that the hard mode provides to avoid a lot of grinding.
>>729960135He gets locked in for anything that has to do with Anulis. He is going to Anulis.

>>729961371She's not blonde, so no. I should clarify, I have no idea if she is in town or not, she just should be, story-wise.
It's truly amazing how garbage the demo "tutorial" is. I left more confused than before entering it and it's such an awful first impression to have of the game.
>>729961784Yeah, they just toss random bullshit at you with no rime or reason, the demo should be just the first part of the game until you beat the first boss.

>>729962102>why does Tokyo exist in this fantasy world?Wait until the postscript. There is a reason why the world is flat. Do you remember the faggot drinking tea in the bar at the beginning of the game? Quite literally, it's people in the present going back in time to avoid overpopulation. The entire game up to that point takes place in the past. The real answer is that there are pocket realities stuck in time loops to prevent their pocket reality from getting turboraped by an elder god that warred against the gods. There is no difference between past and present. Astraea did nothing wrong.
>>729965946postscript was the weakest part imo
>>729965946I willing spoiled myself here, but I don't understand anything
is it worth exploring the secret dungeon in chapter 3 when you are strong enough?I'm at chapter 7
>>729966015It's slow at the start but it picks up once you seriously start diverging from the original plot of the game.>>729966025It's more about the journey, at any rate.
>>729966129There are secret dungeons/areas in several of the chapters and they all have difficult bosses at the end you have to kill to get special equipment/weapons. The chapter 3 boss is the easiest one since the attacks aren't that tough to avoid but you have to pass a DPS check or you die.
>>729956231Impossible was fun but the 3rd boss wound up taking the longest in the whole game. Felt like I learned all the mechanics fully by the end
>>729965946I don't agree with the nuance of everything as you put it there. The Geas isn't an elder god warring against the gods, it's a failsafe by the original creator 'god'. While it is meant to cull the gods it is essentially a machine/system with no will of it's own. And the floating islands aren't really pocket realities, the idea was to physically slice away their land from the planet, but how they protected against Geas after that is mostly separate from the island on which Astraea decided to operate. It's because Astraea's power only rewinds time of the story island specifically that Geas progress itself is never rewound. There is explicit mention at the end of other islands likely having their own method of having held of Geas.

The game's so much better than wapaneezu AAA sloppa it's not even funny. Full of soul and it's actually fun to play and the story is fine, too. One of the few games I actually had to play twice. First Hard and then Impossible. Was GOTY for me in 2024 which was when I played it.

>>729968076Less story focus, more dungeon exploration/battle focus. It's a bit like an extended final dungeon from main game. Still fun.Fuck the ending though, what a low blow to dangle a timeline in which sequel is made before us like that.
>>729955317It doesn't.
>>729968115You don't save her, she's perfectly fine on her own. It does help to bring her into chad man's harem.>>729968498Not sure about about strawberry, I think road to Belkade, but as a drop sugar is from the future zones/lab enemies/breakables.A good tip for both is that you can disassemble one of the tarts from the bakery into jam, which then disassembles into both of those.Costs a bit of money, but can alleviate some grinding. Also remember that there are skills to increase certain drops.
The only flaw is the game missing a DJ Paul Elstak song. Paul's pretty cool so it would have been a royalty free license.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jj7RssPqZTI

>>729969021it includes yet more epilogue storyso yeah
>>729969021I had fun but the procedural dungeon is kind of lame and not that much deeper than the postscript's version. Power scaling goes off the charts with no regard for balance. The story is good but thinner than the main game.
>>729969317If you're not, I'd suggest to put on that skill that makes more coins drop from enemies, even though it takes a bunch of crystals I had it on through the game and noticed that I was still not always having that much leeway for always doing everything as it came available, so I think it's worth it.There's also those drops like amber and other valuable stones from mining that only serve to be sold if you haven't done that yet. Keep one of each if you want to use them with the scales though, which is another thing too look at for increasing your money drops, at least for when you're farming, you can save a separate profile for it.
I finished my second impossible difficulty playthrough just a few days ago, this time not using berserk at all, and I can safely say it's actually easier to not use it. The only thing you have to do is actually put your level up points into hp up to your soft cap so you don't get one shot by anything. Magic is strong enough that as long as you're using good spells it's not that much weaker than berserk but with significantly more safety since it usually isn't that hard to heal back up if you take a hit.
>>729970207On hell berserker is a meme, if you are good of course it's worth using it especially with the cicada shellOne anon said it was a must but I only really used it on the 3rd boss
>>729970207It's safer to not use it, but if you're good with I-frames and evasion it's probably still better to use it.
range 3 handling 1 weapons with herculean seem to swing pretty fast anyway, outside of bosses they seem the most fun thing to use
I beat the demo yesterday and was about to start a new game now. Why does everyone recommend to increase the difficulty?
I like the fucked up implications of why the world of astlibra is the way it is, considering what happens in Magicus.Space niggers that control planetary evolution are scarier than any cosmic horror.

I did my first playthrough just a while back on normal, and I thought the game was plenty fun and challenging. As far as I know the dev made a comment that he wanted to have another game where you can hit enemies to drop shinies, so if you'd want the achievement or bit more challenge do difficult, otherwise normal is still great.

The painting one is a bit too early when your stats are so low so I figured it would take too long to be fun even if I could do it, and I had to wait a chapter for the chapter 3 boss since I didn't know about the crossbow strategy at the time and your two best weapons in chapter are both the same element as him so I don't think melee can be strong enough, at least on impossible.>>729974792there's no dialogue for doing that boss immediately sadly. Started on difficult. Currently at the volcano boss. I'm still mixed on it. I like the rpg systems. The gameplay feels good sometimes but feels tedious other times. >>729980115From what I gathered from guides blunt weapons really refers to hammers. Whether Gugnir is secretly a hammer masquerading as a lance I don't know but there's the Gun Hammer skill that should be able to let you confirm it, since it does something visually when used with blunt weapons.
>>729980558Anulis more like Analis
>>729974140mhh chapter 7 is kinda hard, it takes away my items at some point
>>729980630Careful anon or she'll make you bread
I've been running a mostly buff-based possession roster for a while, the newer ones cost too much imo
>>729980980forgot pic
>>729980679funny enough your best bet is actually still focusing on magic over attack, because that's the stat throwing knives and bows use and they're both very strong with high magic.>>729980980the higher cost ones are definitely worth using unless you're focusing on regular attack over magic.
>>729980980The buffs are fine enough to use the entire game, though don't forget that mastering decreases baseline usage cost a little. That along with some of the cost management skills and some good judgement makes the others great to use for appropriate situations. Also, the last level of skills I just used because they are hot stuff.
>>729981174I've not really used ranged weapons all game
>>729980980>>729981247To add, there's also the Libra boosts, don't sleep on setting up a balance with as many buffs as you can manage, ST gain being one of them.
>>729981407Your loss, they're incredibly useful, have great damage and are usable from safer ranges than melee. Once you get sub-weapon, knives are handy in more active combat too
>>729981509pussy ass bitch strat
>>729981042Pretty much what I used when I played the game, sylphid then berserk because attacking faster results in higher DPS than just hitting harder, I also used the shark one to iframe because it's cheap and has a lot of iframes, I remember evading the Astraea nuke that way.
>>729981509I only ever used them in the arena myself. They were certainly useful there though, sniped a bunch of shit off screen with them.
It's getting too complex to figure out this stuff, I just start by adding the highest karma item I find useful and then go to the otherside and do the same as long as there is no overlap
>>729981923Boy, just wait till you get upgraded trays.
>>729980558why did she attack the protagonist when he time traveled to the point in time where they were children when she already knew him from the chapter 5 dark lord castle when she hatched?
no items is kinda bullshit, I guess I will have to do this boss later
>>729982030Are you sure you have your facts straight? The first time through in chapter 5 the hero doesn't meet her, the fourth tank is already empty and they remark they don't know what's up with them. When he goes back in chapter 7 she scans him for a DNA match and it follows that she doesn't have it yet based on events between 5 and then in 7. Either your referring to circumstances unrelated to chapter 5 itself or I might be overlooking something but reviewing using these videos I think that's right https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_-OzrRrWfg&list=PLB47-6VCxyQCYz8cKrx7plwkksOdZY7Q_&index=6
>>729982297once you have energy drain or whatever it's called items aren't that useful. You can just set aqua bullet for cheap magic i-frames and run into attacks on purpose.
>chapter 8 revealfuture humans are fucked up, btw isn't this the plot of another story? I don't remember which
>>729982858>Kai;_;
>>729980980buffs are giga strong. magic buff>speed buff turns you into a shredder
>>729955317>When does it get good?It doesn't.
>>729982797no you are right. this is the first time child anulis meets adult protagonist in the first loop.I guess she just never scanned child protagonist.
>the dog in the dreamHOLY KINO
>>729983025Do they scale up with magic too? Or are they just flat % buffs?
>AI has a woman momentlmao
>>729984485>Do they scale up with magic too?yep. that's what makes mag>spd buff combo so strong
ASTRAEA, GIVE ME BACK KARON AND ANULIS AND MY LIFE IS YOURS
I'm glad the final true (This time for real) ending revived Astraea
>>729984614To be fair. She is more like a brain in a vat than an AI proper.
I see what you are doing
>>729957713This, people saying it only gets good in chapter 3 are stupid. You're fighting slimes with a stick and then the first boss is fucking Bahamut.
pure kino, never played a game where grinding was so satisfying.
>>729981407>>729981509I played on Hard and the first magic staff (shoots fireballs horizontally) you find is easily the best weapon for like 80% of the game, it scales with your INT, not the weapon level, so the damage is always good + you get the range obviously. Made many arena fights braindead easy.In the last few chapters you'll want to just spam skills though, there's that passive that lets you absorb enemy projectiles and basically makes you unkillable, just pick a skill that makes you fly all over the place.
>>729972591the fact you have a story tell shows he hit the mark and unlocked your desire to yap like a bitch
im at the 9th chapter, where the fuck can I farm holy force?
>>729985525the game is "difficult" until you beat volcanoman and then you very quickly get overpowered as hell. It took me up to that fight for it to click how useful the skills were with the i-frames and shit(and then unlocking the really good skills soon after)>>729986029its been a while since i played but wouldnt it be elysium? Pretty sure I cba about that though and just exchanged for the force i needed by grinding in that area under the church or running through the demon castle
>>729986029you can just spend 3x of another color so it doesn't really matter
>>729986029One of the few complaints I had was some chapters don't really supply you with enough force to avoid spending off color ones or going back to previous areas.>>729986523And if you do this you tend to run up short in another later unless you farm a bunch, it's a vicious cycle.
Bros I started this game years ago but soft dropped it for no particular reason but really want to get back into it. I'm at the part where kuro is sick in the inn and I just found the destroyed flower patch that can cure her, however I have NO fucking clue on what to do next. If no one helps me I won't look it up but I already spent an hour running around with no leads. Pls.
>>729985234i spent the whole game wondering whether the force mechanic was worth it or just silly bloatthis is where i decided it was worth it
heres how the complete GROW menu looks like
>>729986908Pretty sure you head toward a cliff where you get attacked by someone.
>>729972591>Pivot to literature and the Western canon. Return to all those "dead white authors". That is truly an opposing media stance to troons.BASED
>>729972591Troons only like two kinds of anime, bottom of the barrel shounenslop and yuri. They hate every other kind.
>>729975018Anons, get yourselves a wife / gf who will do this for you, its the best.
>>729977521This game lets you do some insane builds (that actually kick ass and aren't just memes) once you get the proper passives.
>*floats into town*
>>729988507why did drinking water help him if he is THAT
>>729988568I'm gonna assume he's a DB style THAT and there's pretty much no difference.
>>729988665Dragonball's is more a translation issue. It's more clear they are cyborgs rather than full robots in the original japanese.
what the fuck
>>729988984is that the betrayal?
>>729955317For me? When https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kxa7rBB1Z6k&t=6 played it all clicked. Didn't like the first chapter at all but the second this played in my ears... Perfect
Bros... Post game is aids. The game has delolved into me either spamming the highest tier magic hit all spell instantly killing everything or being completely unable to win
>>729974485This is quite literally the only game I have played where hit stop feels good. The sound design makes it feel fucking great
>>729989494you were supposed to be spamming magic the whole time so it's really not that different. Though the end game spells are a lot stronger than the early ones.
>>729989880I have been running magic the entire time but now my magic is high enough I can just have 4 of the super screen wipe attack for every battle and every battle is >Spell>WinNext fight>Spell that recharges blue chant>Spell>WinNext fight>Spell that recharges spell that recharges blue >WinRepeat until I use a chant item. I went from like 40 in the arena o 2 and accidentally spoiled a shitload just climbing arena ranks
>>729989880>>729979330Oh silly anon. Wait until you get the ability to use 2 handed weapons with shields and cap your swing speed with 2 handed 3 range weapons. Add in good old berserk and you can have damage you can only dream of
>>729977369What the fuck are you talking about? Is this dlc nonsense?
there will never be another game like this...... i feel empty since finishing it...
>>729990391Kind of. It's not absent in the main game but the DLC is much more explicitAs the light dragon in the pantheon, Al Khamis the dark dragon is her lover. They have a small scene together in the DLC epilogue
>>729962092Absolutely fucking not. Berserk is king quadruply so in post game
the levels a girl being nice can take a man
is there a trick to beating you clone boss?
>>729991542nvm it was easy if i actually parry shit
>>729977369It makes more sense when you find out that in the original game she was actually naked instead of wearing lingerie.
>>729991647Same as every other boss. Put on berserk and git gud
>>729991913
There's a couple more scenes that make more sense when you think about how they were written for different art
Old Gau in particular has a totally different vibe about him.
>>729992170The new one fits him more honestly, since the Gau of the present is calmer and more mature compared to how he was in the past.
>>729975784which one is that?
>>729992305I agree somewhat, but I feel like there's an intention for his character to be somewhat rougher than what comes across in Revision because of the artwork change. I imagine that comes with a significant reduction in gap moe as well, replaced instead with a more pitiable silliness
I'm at the last boss of the main, level 70, everything unlockedDunno if over-prepared or if I should prepare more. I'm only left with level grinding at this point
>>729975784Huh. I did two 100% playthroughs and missed that both times.
>>729992590What chapter are you on?
>>729992025Astraea's worshippers ain't fooling me
>>7299926159th, just before liberating and fighting Astraea
>>729992725Go for you. You're preparedDon't stop just yet
>>729992783It's 7am and I have to sleep...but what do you mean exactly?
Not sure about this one, I hate shit that increases ST cost as I need always to cycle shit to have i-frames
>>729992845You have a lot more game left. The "Final Chapter" isn't so final
>>729992932ye I know, I wanted to finish the game now but I think I will be more mentally prepared after I slep
with all the bullet hell bosses, I wonder if using hammers with the gunhammer perk is worthwhile if you don't like parrying
>>729992903just cast haste for ez ST refill
>>729992170Sol Badguy ahh Gau
>>729993190wtf is haste
>>729993271the speed buff magic
I'm progressing through the DLC at the moment and it just makes me wish that we're getting MORE. Or at least, something that takes place in the same setting. We got a whole fuckin' planet to explore, man, cmon. I wanna see other island's inhabitants.
>>729993870Play magicus
>>729993951I'm not too keen on mobile games but fine, I'll try it.
>>729994021You can play it on PC natively. Check the archives for the DL site folder. Or just buy it
>>729994021Magicus is both shit yet still somehow manages to feel like a Keizo game.
Karon like to watch
Is magicus related in anyway? How much story does it have?
>>7299942682 of the main characters have cameos in astalibra and the implication is kinda extremely important if you take it as more than just a simple cameo. There dialogue implies as such so...
It gets good when you get past the first boss. You are pretty limited at that point and it takes a fuckload of hits so it nearly filtered me.
>>729994404is those adventures that show up from time to time? I always wondered who they were.
>>729994782It's the girl and the boy outside the sages tower
>>729994782I think it's those people in the mining city
>>729994826>>729994832Yeah, those two are who I mean.
A surprising dearth of Kuro in this thread... is the DLC worth playing? I thought the original ending was great, the postscript felt fun but unnecessary and didn't feel as good, whereas the DLC feels like a slightly repetitive slog... I miss my friends!
>>729982009Not him, but I finished the game before I realized I could upgrade the trays.
>>729992170The new art definitely suits him better. He's a bonehead, not a loose cannon.
>>729955317why did it suddenly get super lewd in chapter 3?
>>729996789He probably realized he wasn't making soulless triple-A content and he could acknowledge and cater to male sexuality.
>>729996789It's the great filter.
>>729996789He forgot to jerk off while writing the scenario and after writing it he liked it. Alot.
>>729992059>the scene where they get taken by the guardsIM GOING TO RAPE EACH AND EVERY GUARD AND THEN THE LEADER I WILL BECOME THE RAPIST HERO
>>729996789>>729997015>>729997016>>729997069more like chapter 4
I'm going to Anulis
>>729998440I hope I see more of her in the post game...
i wanted a mech like that top ranker girl. it wouldn't fit at all but i still wanted it since hers looked pretty cool
>>729998920I was disappointed she didn't play more of a role. Hero needs more girls from the future in his harem too.
>>729999174I would have thought she would be related to Kai in some wayFor a moment I thought she was just older Kai kek
Does anyone have a screenshot of the prime minister or whatever he was talking about the childhood friend and going something along the lines of>you'd fall for a pretty face and forgive evil if it were a woman, huh?
>>729999642This one?
>>730000318That's the one. Thanks.
>>729969021You can larp as the old man outside the bakery staring at the bakery girl's huge tits
