I didn't HATE it but I wasn't really having fun either.The companions weren't that bad, you'd have to be playing really poorly for them to go down. The ice shot basically made everything your bitch, the ammo system became pointless after a while because most of the upgrades in the game are just shot expansions.There is enemy variety but most of them are locked off in rooms you barely spend 10 seconds in and the "memorable" setpieces just reuse the same robot drones or grievers over and over.The open world is brain static, it adds nothing and that word can describe the puzzles too. There are some cute moments to break up the pace between collectibles but I can count them on one hand.Sylux is for some reason. His actual boss battle feels like it was ripped from a completely different build of the game and makes me wonder why, where and how he got psychic powers to counter yours.A lot of this game feels like it was cobbled together with ductape where Retro wanted to do one thing, then switched to a different thing, and again to a very different thing until they or Nintendo said "no more switching ideas" and had to glue these things together to release the game already.The end result just made me feel nothing, no joy, anger or sorrow. Just white noise wondering what the actual fuck the people in charge were thinking with any of the elements presented.At least Sylux and the Lamorn armor look cool... I guess the music is great too.
