I'm 30 hours into the Trails 1st remake and this has to be the most aggressively 6/10 "I guess it's competently made but there's nothing special about it" game I've ever played. Especially for how hyped up it is by fans. There's very low stakes in the story, literally zero surprises, characters who's whole thing is they have one or two defining traits and no more, and the gameplay is a mix of the most basic action and very basic turn based.I guess that's the prime takeaway from this game so far. "Basic." It feels like watching one of those old 52 episode animes where they had to stretch the whole budget over the season but actually had about 20 eps worth of content. If it wasn't for the High Speed Mode I probably wouldn't have made it this far in.
>>730067359I played up to Ruan and got burnt out talking to every NPC. It was horrifying spending forever talking to everyone only to advance the story with one cutscene and see that all the NPCs refreshed again.
>>730067359Ok
>>730067927Is there a point to doing that beyond seeing all the useless dialog about how some guy moved lumber again?
>>730068479That's all there is really. It adds more detail to the towns.
>>730067359I agree with you completely, but have only played the original. The ending is like a 9/10. Very compelling to the point I immediately picked up 2 right after. Played about 4 hours then shelved it, since it was back to the meandering shit
Trails should've stayed in Asia
