This way, your opponent is still screwed even if they catch your move with RE because you can still step, launch after they whiff their RE strike and combo them for 1/3rd of their health. Those moves are usually much faster than guard break moves so they don't risk you getting countered. The problem is that this property is not tied to the amount of recovery on block but on whiff. Nothing in the game tells you which moves those are and you will not be able to tell it even with a frame data sheet since that only lists values on hit, block and counter. Wikis also don't have this information most of the time. The only way to learn this is to play for a long time, watch others play, or have someone else tell you.

Crowd noises really added to the experience during Fates Crossing and I don't recall anything similar at EVO even though the crowd size should have been much bigger. EVO 2025 was awful compared to this tournament. Even many online tournaments in 2025 were better than EVO.
