>>730521215Whichever you choose, just remember: Whatever your expectations for gameplay are, prepare to be underwhelmed
>>730521215You're about 20 years late, friendPretty much at least once every couple of years I get gripped by intense nostalgia for MMO games and try to look up what's going on in the genre, only to be disappointed and realize that those long 00s summer nights of raiding or doing clan wars with large groups of irl and online friends are never coming back. Not the same genreNot the same internetNot the same world

How did the French manage to make the best MMORPG of 2026?
>>730521215WoW is a mess, also the community is shitty, it's everyone for themselves, faster, faster, I want that lootFFXIV is a weird one, very story driven but also kinda single player and the community is full of freaky ERPersSWTOR is also very story driven, it's if you take WoW gameplay (but not as good) and mix it with KotOR story (but not as good)GW2 might be the best choice? I don't know how it's currently, but when I played it it was pretty fun and the world felt the most alive out of any MMO that I playedESO isn't bad eitherDon't even try any of those Korean ones like Black Desert, Blade and Soul, Throne and Libery, Lost Ark, etc. They look good and that's where the good things end.
>>730522037which serveri last played ddon up to just before they fixed area ranks, couldnt ass myself to grind them out when i already had capped gear
>>730521215I play BDO, cause unironically it respects your time. There are no dailies/weeklies that matter or are tied to your progression, you can progress solo and play as much as you want without any guild demands. I get my MMO grindan fix that way and I take monthly breaks in-between when I'm feelign that itch. Used to play I play GW2 for the PvP aspect of it, but got tired after spending thousands of hours on it.
