Retarded game stores always ask 100+ for that game. No idea why since you can easily emulate all 3 games.

>>
>>730529478
i'll probably get a Switch 2 eventually just bc my current Switch is from March 2017 and can't last more than an hour in handheld unless I'm playing Asteroids.
A lot of people bitch about how cheap the Switch 1 is, probably because they had to rush it out, I really hope the Switch 2 is more evergreen like their past handhelds.
>>
>>730530342
Without going to check prices on ebay, I would wager Ogre Battle on the SNES. It was a low print run and while I don't have the box, I do have all the inserts, manuals, posters, etc. I've also got a lot of JRPGs from the PS era complete in box which can go for a decent price like Valkyrie Profile and a black label FFVII. Lunar 1 and 2, Xenogears. And I have a lot of GBA, DS, and 3DS games which have likely gone up in value. I'm honestly not sure.

while the 3DS itself went up in price the games are actually fairly consistent, probably bc most people just hack it.
>>
>>730531070
I am from EU so we didn't get most of those RPGs over here - and when they got here they run in shitty 50hz - so piracy was the only solution. If I'm not mistaken, both Lunar games came out with goodies like map, cards, etc?
>>
>>730530342
>>730531070
Actually, I guess it's my CiB copy of SNES Chrono Trigger. That's going for ~$800 right now. And Valkyrie Profile is my highest value PS1 game.
I've got Ogre Battle 64 and that's up there. I think I have Conker's Bad Fur Day, but I may have traded it in. I don't remember if I re-bought a copy when we were liquidating them for $10 each and my N64 games are put away.
Apparently Megaman 1 on the NES is worth a lot which is surprising.
And I've got most of the pokemon games on GBA which I know go for stupid amounts now for some reason.
>>
>>730531625
Yeah a bunch of stuff like that. Hardcover manual, some little cheap standees, cloth map, maybe a coin. I don't remember everything. I put all my older games in a box in storage when last I moved 10 years ago and haven't unpacked everything because my new place is a bit smaller.
>>
>>730530342
My best guess would be Haunting Ground or The Misadventures of Tron Bonne. I got Tron Bonne for $15 at a LAN cafe back in the early 00's. I think I bought Haunting Ground for like $80 at a game store a decade ago.
>>
Man, I should have bought that CiB copy of Earthbound back in 2000 when I really didn't have the money to buy stuff like that. It's worth so much now.

Prices are loose, CiB, and sealed. That's top 5. Surprisingly NFL Blitz 2000 is the highest valued PSX game now for some reason.
>>
>>730530342
I have some fancy sealed version of Postal 2 that goes for quite a bit i think. I also have Haunting Ground which I know is like, $400+ nowadays.
>>
>>730532076
My Tron Bonne is CIB and in great condition, but not sealed.
>>
>>730530342
Against all odds, I think it might be Pokemon Gale of Darkness (that I got for free from a sweepstakes). Second place would be my copy of Chibi Robo, and I guess I have the old kiosk at Walmart to thank for selling me on that one.

It's kind of weird seeing your "collection" gain value when you aren't really a collector.

Did a minute of research, but it's interesting to see how little impact NSO drops have on physical game prices. By comparison, the TTYD Remake appears to have nuked the value of TTYD (GameCube), and I was under the impression that opinions were mixed on that release. So it has to be some combination of the remake being more popular than I thought and the market's view on physical ownership vs rentals.

anyone can be a collector, just buy games and don't sell them, easy.
You're only a faggot if you buy games and don't open them or buy games bc of the price and not to play them, or god forbid you're the blackest nigger on Earth and do things like picrel.

What a weird bet to make. Yeah, it'll go up in value, but there are way too many copies in the wild for this to make sense as an investment.
>You're only a faggot if you buy games and don't open them or buy games bc of the price and not to play them
Agreed. It was always weird behavior, and I don't understand why this shit took off post 2019. What loop was I left out of?

Nope, that'd be Bayonetta 1, which is sad since that's not even an exclusive.

Platforming across building tops without a jump button was literal cancer. After beating the game, I had zero inclination to ever replay it because of so many "Glad that's over with, never doing that again" moments. The only cool part of the game was using the right stick to move your legion and wrangle enemies, but even that got old less than halfway through.

Not too worried about a fire. Yes, I've seen the picture. Regardless, I have my vidya / movie / book / figure collections insured. All those things total 59500 USD, with games alone being 36565. (and I haven't even checked pricecharting / ebay for several months, so it's all probably a few thousand more at this point) If I lost everything, the only thing that would cost me is my time and effort ordering/ replacing it all. The only things that literally cannot be replaced are my autographed games/movies.

Steel Battalion complete (paid $100 for it in 2006, now worth 700-800)
Border Down (paid $200 for it earlier this year, after like two decades of playing a bootleg and I finally bought a legit copy of it)

Eh, I just throw it all on a shelf. The Game Boy stuff I swap the batteries on, but really I just use flashcarts for any cartridge based system anyway. When it comes to disc based stuff I prefer to run everything off of flash media or an SSD, whatever the options are for the console. I have mostly stopped collecting, I was grabbing a lot of Game Boy games for a while but I have eased up on that as I have most of what I want to actually own.
