It may sound silly but the most impressive thing about the game to me is the trees. Actual fucking foliage, no longer just blocks, but real branches and leaves. Futhermore trees aren't 6 blocks high and blocking your path, god the immersion is so much better when trees are of normal size and not shrimp mode like MC.

When I was 11 to 13, I made a Minecraft comic, usually drawn with the structure of a Sunday strip but occasionally more like a manga, that became my go-to creative universe. I don't think I even finished a single planned story because of how viciously I was being abused at the time. The last thing I drew for it was the first render of the villain in 2016. If Hytale is good, maybe I can bring it back as a sequel set in the new game.

Would anyone here be interested in a Hytale server similar to F.A.T.A.L. but actually good? In other words, a low fantasy world where you can attempt anything but you aren't the main character so you will probably die, the combat system is similar to a tabletop rpg but in real time (rather than an action game with ridiculous MOBA specials) and extremely gory/lethal (with a roguelike game loop where you get a randomly generated character each time you die, and your goal is to survive as long as possible), and you can rape people if you grapple them correctly but the game isn't centered around ERP. Let me give you an example here, you know how if you install distant horizons it doesn't work with every mod and if you are using an insane mod that increases world height and depth to an extreme degree, or not, you have to wait anywhere from 8-14 hours for all the chunks to fully load in? Hytale wont have this problem, because they'll be implementing this stuff into the engine itself, some things wont need to be mods, because they will be baked into the game itself.Seamless transitions between dimensions, world height unlimiters, since mods aren't client based like java and are world based, but aren't the same jank addon system that bedrock has, mod incompatibilities and issues with playing with friends also wont be an issue. Think of a limit that Minecraft has, whether it be vanilla or with a mod. Hytale genuinely either currently does not, or will not have these limits in the near future, that's why this is such a big deal.If you wanted to play Minecraft 1-1 in Hytale, later on down the line you will even be able to do even that.

>>730577932This is the beauty of this system aswell, yes you're exactly right that there are games that don't work around modders when they update the game, such as Minecraft, Fallout 4, and Skyrim, but Hytale wont have this issue, and this isn't nor should it be revolutionary, because there are other games that do this. Think of it like this, there are 3 types of tiers for modded games, Tier A is Updates rarely break mods because the mod interface is stable and official, usually because the dev themselves works with the game, think of Factorio as a fantastic example of this, in fact I would argue Factorio is maybe the best example of this, but Rimworld and Paradox games, maybe Terraria with tModLoader can be good examples aswell, but to a lesser degree, of course these aren't nearly as bad games where mods are frequently broken by updates such as Minecraft and Bethesda games. At its very core BTW is about a very intuitive set of challenges, each that is trivial on its own but together they pile up. It's not that having to mine a bunch of clay is inherently challenging, but you have to make the most of your time and tools while minding your hunger, nighttime, health, and other resources. Going to get food isn't hard because cows might fight back, it's because you need to leave your base, farther and farther so you're incentivized to progress technologically. Mining isn't scary because fighting mobs is hard, it's because you're limited on torches and food and can't spend an eternity in any one cave until later in the game.But in an action-oriented game where you have a plethora of tools to trivialize 80% of environmental hazards, even if you were to add something like temperature or thirst isn't just another pointless layer of complexity that comes down to a checkbox of [do you have x item]. It's why I hate mods that introduce random gauges like temperature or oxygen. Same goes for mobs that will hit you with a random grabbag of DoTs and debuffs. The more the hazard comes from action the less it integrates into your dayplanning and resource management. Take the Jungle Spider from BTW and MEA. The hunger debuff they give is arbitrary, but it's not a system unique to them. It eats into your economy more than anything.tl;dr: In an adventure game where you whiz around monsters environmental hazards are either progression checks or pointlessly tedious. It needs a slow paced sandbox.
