Give me a handheld as strong as a base ps5, with an actual dedicated software that isnt windows, with a big enough library of games so that the draw isnt just 1 or 3 Nintendo exclusives, one of which I will regret, and the others, which I'll post hoc rationalize as being worth it because they ate up 30 hours of time that I didnt enjoy. And I'll move on from my original 2022 64GB LCD steam deck.

I currently can't justify buying the Oled one, because its just not big enough an improvement for running games. Steam Deck basically "died" for me as my "Main gaming device" once I was unable to play a Pirated Copy of Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, without a revolting response. And its only got worse as I needed mods to play Expedition 33, and had to tinker with the setting forever for the lighting to not be fucked, until I just zen controlled my brain into tolerating shit ass, so I could finish the shit overrated game and seethe about it (To myself, since I couldnt stand the online circlejerk). And even worse, is that theres a smaller AA game that only I care about, which barely runs on the deck without that weird blurry ghosting effect, where the edges of characters look like theyre surrounded by grains.

I don't understand people that justify the steam deck with "BUT MUH EMULATION" nigga you can emulate on your fucking phone. I emulated so many games on my old 3DS. Yes steam makes it easier, but if youre spending $500 for a glorified emulation device, you're mentally ill.

Its a STEAM DECK. Made to play STEAM GAMES. Ya feel me?

I have tech illiterate brown fatigue.

I feel like nostalgia is at the right temperature for a new PSP. Just call it PSP2 though. Pretend the Vita never happened, even if deserved better.

>>730567836
Gpd win 5 is the closest you‘re gonna get in terms of performance and you can put steamos on it
>>
>>730567836
>strong
ESL need to leave.
>>
>>730567836
It would be big enough to require a briefcase to carry around and would have a battery life of 30 minutes
>>
If it's not the same form factor / size as the Vita, it's pointless.
We need handhelds not portable home consoles.
>>
>>730567836
If you try playing 2025 AAA games on steamdeck you're just retarded.
Emulating on a phone is fucking terrible.
There is no reason to use steamdeck as a main gaming device that replaces a normal desktop.
>>
>>730567836
PS handheld will come out and sell many many units. It's what most normies want that don't want nintendo. It's a dedicated and optimized console ecosystem and experience with timed/permanent exclusives. The steam deck isnt refined enough to breach the market like this will.

"give me a handheld with modern hardware that doesnt run windows but also doesnt run linux (which is the main reason for most the problems i have with games running) but also doesnt cost over $500 dollars but also runs every game flawlessly including new UE5 games"
youre retarded, steam deck is considerably cheaper than everything else barring the switch 2 and was never meant to run the newest AAA games at over medium settings. youre retarded for treating your deck like a main gaming device and not a portable miniPC for emulation and AA games. buy a real pc if you want to play newer games

What was not communicated well?

>buy a real pc if you want to play newer games
How stupid is this? Do you guys think about the the world like you actually exist in it?

A PC costs upwards of $1000 dollars. A good PC able to run almost anything costs upwards of $1500.

In what world would I choose that option over a dedicated console that costs $500 to $700? The only way, is if you trick yourseld into thinking that the "le tinkering options!!!" are that worth it. A better rationalization is "The extra cost is worth it for the amount more games available on PC" but that rationalization is also stupid when you realize that means youre not only paying extra for the device...but youre paying extra because you have more games you can Pay for in the first place.

Then, lastly youre ignoring the entire advantage of a handheld. Its not JUST about being able to play outside at the park or something. Its about not being tied to a specific rigid set up, being able to play in Bed, on the Toilet, At a Friends House, On Vacation, whatever.

I don't have the money to spend on a PC. I could save up for it, but it would NEVER be worth it over buying a new phone, or fuck, buying a fucking console. If you're rich sure, buy whatever the fuck you want. But if youre rich, you can afford a $1350 Legion Go 2. Or a Xbox Rog Ally X, and I bet youre the same retard going "erm, why do these retarded companies think something priced so expensively will sell doe?" Lacking the self awareness to realize that the same follows for a PC.

Some people want the most value, for the least cost.

If a Steam Deck 2 was priced at $800 but could play all the games I wanted to play. Id consider it worth it, because its only slightly more expensive than a console, with all the advantages of a handheld, and few of the limitations. But that doesn't exist.

>>730567836
what games is this going to have?
>>
>>730569145
As many as the PS5, which has now moved roughly 90m units just 5 years in.
>>
>>730569258
>As many as the PS5
none?
what's the point of this device then?
>>
>>730568824
ok then buy a console you fucking retard. there is no such thing as a $700 handheld that plays every new UE5 game at max settings. there is no handheld that doesnt use either windows or linux. there is no handheld that will ever be that cheap except for the steam deck (only because they sell at a loss) and the switch 2, or an android emulator. i have no clue where you got the idea that a ps5 level handheld would be anything under $1k at the very least.
>>
>>730569309
Ask the 90m people who bought a PS5 and drove Sony to record profit

>doesnt know how to read

>there is no handheld that doesnt use either windows or linux.

>the nintendo ds, nintendo 3ds, nintendo wii u, ps portable, ps vita, nintendo switch and nintendo switch 2 dont exist

uh yeah...sure buddy, the handheld i want is tooootally impossible.
>>
>>730568824
You're not wrong about handheld convenience, but you're delusional if you think there's some magical price/performance ratio that's just waiting to be discovered. You want PS5-level power, in a shell smaller than a Switch, not running Windows or Linux, at like $700 flat? That’s sci-fi levels of cope, bro.

Hardware doesn’t scale like you think it does. That battery life would be abysmal. Size would balloon out to chonker-tier. The only reason the PS5 ecosystem is tolerable at that price is because they sell the hardware at a loss and milk you on the backend with digital sales, PS Plus, MTX, etc.

Handhelds will always have more compromises than console/PC. If the compromises piss you off that badly, maybe you’re the one trying to jam the square peg in the round hole bruv. The Deck was never meant to replace your main setup. It’s a side hustle machine that happens to run a ton of games well enough on the go. That’s it.

This imaginary “perfect handheld” doesn’t exist because what you're asking for breaks the laws of physics *and* economics.

>The Deck was never meant to replace your main setup. It’s a side hustle machine that happens to run a ton of games well enough on the go. That’s it.
No. Its a switch equivalent for PC. Dont lie. The only reason the deck exists is because of the overwhelming success of the switch and its failed, more limited copy cats.
I dont care whether the Deck wants to "compete with the switch"

Also the handheld im describing is already basically the Switch 2, but not Nintendo Exclusive, and with a bigger Library.

If some of what has been projected in 2026 is true, and games like RE9, 007 First Light and Pragmata will be playable on the Switch 2. And Indiana Jones comes to the Switch 2, then what Im asking for is indeed possible. I just dont want to be limited by Nintendos ecosystem, and also want more reliable future proofing.

I don't need a "perfect handheld" I never said anything about an idealized conception of battery life or a slim form factor. I just want a less limiting feeling Steam Deck or Switch 2.

I've gathered Playstation, they have decided to make a completely new custom OS from scratch, and paid out several mobile game gacha slop companies to stop making gacha slop and make Portable Handheld games again.
I've also told them to make it capable of running the latest UE5 slop at the highest settings all for under 500 dollars.
Expect it in a couple months!
>>
>>730569480
you want a $700 portable ps5 with a dedicated OS. whats even the point of making a thread for something thats obviously not gonna happen? "uhh i want a $100 gaming beast machine that always plays AAA games at max performance and ray tracing and also jacks me off and wipes my ass for me and i can shit my pants while playing it and it also never dies and never gets hot and the fans arent loud and it pays my mortgage for me and and and"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

>you want a redux of the wii u with better specs, and even better functionality and controls, and portability, and proper games, all while remaining the same price and cheaper overall than the deluxe wii u set
>whats the point of making a thread for something thats obviously not gonna happen?
>>
>>730571603
the wii u isnt a handheld, retard. it wasnt even as powerful as its competitors so it wouldnt have been able to play the AAA games at the time without major compromises.
