Sega reaches out and puts (you) in charge of developing the next sonic game, you have full creative control, it can be whatever genre you want (within reason) the story can be whatever you want, and any of the main cast can be your main protagonist. What (you) say goes, so what do you decide to make the game about?

Only one rule: no new characters, they must all be original characters from the previous games.

Stylish action game with Shadow as the pc. The edgier and cornier the better, nu-metal soundtrack is mandatory, but the combat gameplay must be as fluid as it is fast most importantly. Think bayonetta 2 or MGR in the sonic setting.

Has a little bit of every type of sonic game that has ever been in it from open world to 2d to kart racing in a big open world with some silly save the world story tied to it even has fully animated cut scenes like the sonic show. Can unlock and play every character from the Sonic universe thats not pure chose evil

I really don't care much about the story

Here's my pitch for the gameplay though, full thing in pic related, but tl;dr:

>SA2 speed stages/gameplay as a base, but with even more shortcuts and branching pathways (like Final Rush); with more classic sonic momentum systems, where even if you move fast easily like in SA2, tricks/score multipliers/moving down inclines allows you to move past the normal speed cap, in turn opening up even more shortcuts/tricks, etc.

>Increased emphasis on score into a full style system a la the Tony Hawk games or DmC: WAY more variables for what gives points and linking actions together: wall running, grinding, choming attacks, jumping out of spindashes, etc, with different multipliers based on how you can chain the actions together without interruptions or downtime

>Parkour mechanics. Wall running/jumping, grinding off of cliffs/platform edges, not just rails; more flourish animations like you could off of rail jumps or homing attacks like in SA2, different animations based on the timing/score bonus, being able to curl downhill to gain speed just like in the classic games but also a la in a skating game

>Double down on the stylized, graffeti/punk aesthetic of Sonic Adventure's concept art, making the actual game look like that/with cel shading, ties into the whole parkour/jet set radio-esque stuff.

>Take ideas from Spark the Electric Jester: A parry you can use to soak hits while still moving at high speeds; Have the Wisps back, but as actual movement or combat abilities you can swap between and use as part of your moveset in an organic, emergent way; not as forced level design gimmicks

feedback appreciated, as are suggestions for vaguely similar fangames (sonic storm for example, I think there were a few others, or like the mods that add SA2 levels into Bombrush Cyberfunk if those count).
Also fangame devs feel free to steal ideas

Bosses are fine with only quick time events being made faster, they're called quick time after all
