RDR 1 >>> RDR 2 and John is cooler than Arthur

true I agree with op
>>
>>730595375
It a great game, I like it too. Have a nice day!
>>
>>730595375
I liked how RDR1 looks like it's made of paper. it really sells the feeling of being in a dry desert although it's not photorealistic.
>>
john feels like an authentic product of his time and arthur is just a crybaby sjw

>>730595753
you didn't play rdr1 apparently lol
>>
>>730595375
I hate they didn't make an RDR1 remake DLC utilizing New Austin on the RDR2 map. It's pretty close to 1:1 scale if I had to guess and was barely touched in RDR2. I was honestly crossing my fingers for it since RDR1 wasn't available in the Playstation store up until recently (not sure about xbox)
Missed opportunity for Rockstar. It would have been an easy cash grab with minimal work
>>
>>730595375
Never got the appeal of RDR games. It's GTA but boring

>>730595375
I don't remember rdr1 being as overtly political as 2, so just on that account it's a better game to me, but neither game was really my cup of tea. I think I would have enjoyed the first one when I was younger if they would have actually bothered releasing it back in 2010/11 for PCs
>>
>>730597347
why do you need a remake? remaster is out on PC. there are no good remakes. fuckin retard
>>
>>730599285
why r slur?
>>
>>730598939
>I don't remember rdr1 being as overtly political
you literally side with the revolutionaries in mexico how retarded are you
>>
both games are insanely overrated, but 2's story is filled with plot holes and convenient writing to move the plot along to the point I couldn't take it seriously at all, especially chapter 5 which was a complete waste of time.
>>
>>730600554
both games' last chapter is a waste of time but the difference is that RDR1 is fun to play unlike the cinematic experience that RDR2 is.
>>
>>730600257
yeah it's mexicans vs mexicans, it doesn't lecture you on how bad the white man is and how victimized the minorities are
>>
>>730600694
both games play exactly the same. every mission is the same too.

ride somewhere on horse, get to place, dead eye headshot some enemies, snake oil, dead eye headshot more enemies, ride away, enemies spawn on horses and chase you, dead eye shoot them in the head rinse and repeat, and since dead eye auto reloads your gun you never have to reload either.

Basically do any random mission in either game and they will play nearly identically.

GTA V looks so shit compared to RDR1, holy fuck. The characters look like action figures and everthing is so plasticky.
>>
>>730600257
of course john would side with the revolutionaries he's an outlaw at the end of the day
>>
>>730600694
>>730600554
I feel as though rdr1 was more consistent overall but when Rdr2 was good, it vastly out shone rdr1…but it’s lows made me want to skip a lot of the game.
>>
The Mexican whores in the saloon made me hard
>>
>>730595375
>John is cooler than Arthur
huh? anons actually think the well written character is better than the gypsy camp shylock who dies of aids after having gay sex with niggers?
>>
>>730600825
The horses in rdr2 are too fucking slow and the survival elements are shit.
>>730600847
>>730600257
He doesn't do that out of principle he did it because the federales betrayed him. Even if it was political, it didn't show the revolution as something, Reyes was as bad as the old government, as it shows in the newspaper in 1914.
>>
>>730599991
because you're a remake consuming nigger and should be ashamed of your behaviour
>>
>>730601169
you should apologize for being an ignorant chud.
>>
>>730595375
Never played RDR 1 but I didn't care for John in 2. I also don't particularly care for Arthur but like to play him more because I'm used to him. RDR 2 is a boring slog anyway. I get way more fun from just running around killing people than playing the actual missions and stuff
>>
>>730601169
Not that anon. You should be ashamed of your behavior.

I like how RDR1 takes place in the west. It's away from civilization you feel like you're on the lawless frontier, and you can see civilization creeping out west near the end with cars and everything (which is heavily based off Big Jake, not that anyone on /v/ has watched any western other than the Good the Bad and the Ugly).

I hate how RDR2 starts off in the west, but you work your way more to the east Not-New-Orleans, which is one of the oldest settlements of civilization and feels nothing like a western. Then you end up on a Caribbean Island or something. I see what they were trying to do. In Butch Cassidy and Sun Dance Kid (which is what RDR2 is pretty much), Cassidy is always talking about retiring in a tropical paradise kind of like Dutch is talking about going to Cancun or wherever, and they are just playing that to the logical conclusion. But thematically that part of the game stick out like a sore thumb in RDR2 is complete ass, while at least in Butch Casside and the Sun Dance Kid Boliva still feels like the west which goes to show that they can't escape the west..
>>
>>730601728
>which is one of the oldest settlements of civilization
In the new world*
>>
>>730595375
Shit game
>>
>>730601394
Maybe you alright after all
>>
>>730597347
At this point you're going to get an outsourced remake to the cheapest team of indians money can buy on the Unreal engine, probably around the PS6 release.
>>
>>730597347
in the first game you get to shoot indians
you can't do that now
>>
>>730602391
don't encourage him palantir will log you too.
>>
>>730600776
intro train ride is all npcs talking about native americans, apart from that they talk about religion and the new governor
you're genuinely retarded
>>
>>730600776
it literally does, you are a retard
>>
>>730603783
I guess I forgot or maybe the game doesn't fatigue you with the sheer volume of that sort of stuff the way the second one does
so my original point, that it's not as overtly political, not to the degree the second one is, still stands
>>
>>730603848
>>730603783
The federales weren't even white, retards.
>>
>>730595375
im gonna have to disagree. except for the soundtrack and the mehico setting (so 1/3 of the game) rdr2 is a direct improvement.
>>
>>730595375
I remember when I played the online mode of rdr1 back in 2015 or so. There was quite a lot of players, even 2 years after the lauch. Meanwhile, Rdr2 online didnt last even 7 months… this stills bugs me
>>
>>730604923
nah you're just retarded, you're fatiguing yourself by being completely unaware of what is political or what isn't
you're clueless, probably 14 or something
>>
We all had her.
>>
>>730606387
let me ask you something, do you think games have become more "woke" in general over the past 15 years? as in trying to be more inclusive, pro-lgbtq, feminist, race-sensitive, etc?
2nd of all I can list all of the political, woke shite from the 2nd one and you can list all of the things from the 1st one that would fit that criteria and we can compare. Who will end up with a longer list? Would you like to do that?
>>
>>730606939
>political is when woke
okay peabrain
>>
>>730595375
RDR1 has a better feel, main story and humour. But RDR2 is an insanely good American wilderness simulator. Just to load up the game, go hunting or exploring and then sell whatever you find in the stores, go eat some food in the bar and wash it down with a beer. All of this feels so immersive in RDR2
>>
>>730595375
is it modded? game looks good
>>
>>730595375
John felt much better as bitter outlaw going good storyline, while arthur and is woe is me act was worse

it's the most obnoxious, annoying type of politics and feels the most out of place in games, so in that sense it's more overt
I don't necessarily mind politics in general, you know, characters discussing forms of government, corruption, spying, war, wealth inequality, the downsides of technological progress, etc. Like Deus Ex.
Deus Ex MD making allusions to BLM to show how much they care is so fucking cringe I can't even
>>
i prefer 2 cause Arthur is hotter

2's biggest plot problem for me is there's a huge disconnect between the story and the gameplay. The story revolves heavily around money but the gameplay allows you to make huge amounts of money quite easily. Because of this, it results in the story being undermined and seeming ridiculous at times.

John Marston is an illiterate hick and does everything hes told when hes told to do it and doesnt have the mental faculties, even after all hes done and learned from men greater than him, to imagine the situation hes in is not securing anything but his own death. He couldnt instil in his son a sense of purpose that would prevent him from becoming the same and failed at literally everything he did and died as a government dog. John Marston is a failure and i think that was the inherent point about people like him- but the aggrandizing of his deeds and his volition to save his family seems to have tricked people into thinking he isnt a fucking idiot.

in the early hoursof the game he fucking walks up to a manned outlaw outpost and gets shot immediately at the gates. be fucking serious, this man has severe intellectual limits
