>play JRPG>make phys character>reach boss who reflects all phys attacks>have to restart
turn around you stupid cat
>>730596247>Play Roguelike>Make build based around poison>Mid game dungeon is pure undead>Have to restart>Later, they add in a special ability to make poison effect undead
>>730596247Name one example
>>730596247Good thing you got three other niggas in your row to cover for you
>>730596471Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne>inb4 use different demons
>game lets you play mage>play mage>every boss resists magic>every enemy is designed to counter magic>need to look up a minmaxing guide to find and upgrade a specific gear set and level matching stats just to be able to cheese your way through the gameWow, so much fun, thanks from SHITware
>>730596995This is what you get for playing a faggot in a dress in a game about manly men doing manly things.
>poison is only effective in the grassy starting area where enemies are all regular woodland creatures
>>730596247Just equip the magic sword noob
>>730596950>I know exactly how wrong my answer is, but if I type "inb4" it's magically not wrong anymore
>>730596950>play best build in the game (pure phys)>somehow struggle
>>730598190Poison often drives me nuts in games. They'll make it a long dot but then make all bosses immune to it, aka the only fights that last long enough for a dot to be worth using.
I had a bad track record with archer characters in assorted RPGs. They were often tedious, boring, slow, underpowered, and easily lost the range advantage. They work best in stealth games.
>>730598728Then you played Tactics Ogre and realized that archers shouldn't be powerful
>>730598635Could be worse. Could have poison work but have the bosses be such heavyweights that it's basically useless and costs you precious time to hurt them with real spells.
>>730596247You only felt 1/10 of the pain of a poison build user
>>730596247What JRPG actually has character builds that can't be reworked midgame? I call bullshit.
>>730596247>Helldivers 2>Play Poison build>Get wrecked by bots>Killed by zombies and AYY's>Eaten by bugsDid they fix it yet? I just want to play my Nurgle buildMeanwhile in WH3>Play any Nurgle Faction >SteamrollI can't win
>>730596247>play JRPG>make phys character>reach boss who reflects all phys attacks>punch harder>win through sheer willKINOOOOOOOOO
>>730596950Nigger, everything but the big fat elephant FOLDS to phys, and yes, using different demons is the way to go, you stupid retard, go be a stubborn nigger in another series if you can't handle being told to switch tacticss for exactly ONE mandatory time.Fucking retard.
>>730596471pokemon
>>730598190Poison is usually something the game uses against you.
>>730604426RPGs should give you EXP for poisoning enemies and then running away.
>>730598635Poison is immensely overpowered in etrian odyssey games, as example in EOU1 it is possible to one shot first stratum boss with viper alone, poison ticks for about 800 damage and boss has about 3500 hp, poison has maximum duration of 5 turns. It's pretty unlikely it will last whole 5 turns but each tick can chop off about 20% of boss hp.
>>730600318The only game I've ever seen where poison was viable was darkest dungeon
>game's idea of difficulty is making late game bosses resistant to 95% of forms of attacks>by default you can't change attack type on the fly
>>730596309he want go up not down
>>730598635>make all bosses immune to itI never understood why devs do this. In Dragon Quest, Snooze (and every status effect spell) is never worth using on the average enemy that dies in one hit to a basic attack. And Snooze doesn't work at all on bosses. Snooze is useless for the player and there's no reason to provide something so useless to the player. It doesn't feel rewarding when I see "Level Up! New Spell Unlocked: Snooze!" It just feels insulting.
>Play as undead RTS faction>No heal spell as others can use harm to hurt you>Every harm spell also hurts you>No way to regain health except slowly over time, no way to restore health, no extra health or defense>Every other faction can also do this in addition to heal
>>730609364>Undead>Doesn't heal by dealing damage???
>>730596995>play mage >every boss resists magic>my damage numbers are just so high that it doesnt matter >have to nerf myself by only using melee spells >out damage every boss with no issue Thanks from shitware, fucking broken ass magic
>>730596247Skeletons in Grim Dawn have >100% bleed resist, but it used to be around 500% so even resistance reduction wouldn't lower it enough for bleed damage to hurt them I found out when levelling a bleed based character. There are multiple skeleton filled areas that you have to traverse to play through the game
>Play necromancer>You're limited on the number of undead you can have summoned>Your minions rapidly lose health or last for a short duration>Undead minions aren't immune to status effects like poison/bleed/sleep/charm/fear/etc.>There are enemies that don't leave a corpse for you to raise undead from>There's areas with nothing but these enemies>Your minions don't carry over when loading into another area
>>730604426all status effects except blind/paralysis usually are
>>730607589that's every atlus game
>>730596247Well don't play jap trash you dirty casual
>>730611236 >necromancer fantasy >actually just part-time corpse janitor >spend more time micromanaging brittle skeletons than actually fighting >best summon dies to a stiff breeze and costs three rare reagents >no corpses around so you’re just waving your wand like a confused magician at a kid's birthday party Why do devs hate the fun classes? Let me command an unholy legion, not babysit bone toddlers.
>play game>make character who spams a billion attacks every turn>reach boss>
>>730598635Elden ring does it right. Poison does enough damage to be worth using but not enough to trivialize the fight.
