I don't want to play a game as Korean Steven Seagal.
>>
Yes you do.
>>

Say my name
>>
This will be my first foray into the Yakuza-like genre, because it actually looks raw and doesn't have that heckin-wholesome chungus bullshit I keep seeing with Like a Dragon.

You know man, that Jet Li game on PS2 was really underrated.

>This will be my first foray into the Yakuza-like genre, because it actually looks raw and doesn't have that heckin-wholesome chungus bullshit I keep seeing with Like a Dragon.
Just play the first two Yakuza games on PS2 before they completely jumped the shark, if I remember correctly there was still some silliness but it was sparse and not le hecking random
>>
>>730603421
I'm totally willing to do this. They look pretty fun and I like the way Kiryu's face looks. I've also heard the Kiwami games ruined them, which unfortunately were the only versions that ended up in my libraries (didn't play them though).
>>
>>730602014
I do
>>
Well I do OP, after all the vtuberkuza I want something more uh, normal
>>
>>730605171
8's story was so fucking ass I don't get how you even make something like that
>>
>>730605264
They tried hard to appeal to the western market but they didn't realize that the appeal of the series is that it wasn't like that
>>
>>730602014
Can you massacre people on the streets?
>>
He based and i can't wait to roundup living shit out of fellow gooks on streets of Seoul.
>>
>>730605397
If anything I think they tried to appeal too hard to the otaku market. Why the fuck is there a vtuber in a Yakuza game?

It's looking more like Sleeping Dogs from the screenshots they showed.
>>
>>730603586
don't listen to him. the ps2 versions are gay nostalgia jank. Yakuza 0 and Kiwami 1+2 are the best games in the series.
>>
>>730602316
You're Heisenberg
>>
>>730608923
thats a good thing. Sleeping Dogs was great, I dont know if they got more budget that RGG studio usually does but they made a convincing open world with driving and martial arts in the first attempt
>>
>>730609559
>driving and martial arts in the first attempt
It was not the first attempt. It was originally the True Crime series that was repurposed into Sleeping Dogs.

I am reposting my take on a side mission for this one
>Lee's character is walking around Kabukicho looking for some mook who owes him money
>Suddenly he hears "For friendship! For justice! I challenge you, evil-doer!"
>Turn around and a guy with a crazy haircut and a very loud lime green suit is standing there posed like he's in a Jackie Chan movie
>"Eh?"
>"Your evil deeds end here!"
>Battle where he moves around awkwardly and attempts to pinwheel over top of you or air juggle you or something crazy
>Just shoot him a few times in the face and rob him
>"What a moron, what criminal acts like that in a place like this? What's next, a freak dressed like a giant baby?"
>Mission passed

Scrubs was legit tv. It's difficult to explain it since we don't have dramas like it anymore just feelsy propaganda pieces i know Scrubs was libshit in the most technical sense but back then the ((())) were told to shut up and just make money. The scene where Cox is breaking down because patients are dying left and right due to a rabies blood transplant lives rent free in my head. Or when J.D's dad dies.

Scrubs is genuinely a great sitcom, give it a watch. Every character is great, the music choices are perfect, the comedy is great, and when they get serious they get extremely serious and depressing.

The only bad part about it is season 9 and even then season 9 isn't that bad. There's also the sequel to season 9 in the T-Mobile commercials.
>>
>>730612872
Honestly the most surprising thing to me is that it isn't Dr. Cox who says the line
>>
>>730602014
I think of him more as Korean Bud Spencer.
>>
>>730613959
I remember catching it a few times when it aired but I wasn't a routine watcher, just a kid browsing cable. I notice generally that modern TV shows weren't as good as Scrubs, Everybody Loves Raymond, and others of that era which I actually could enjoy even though I was only 10-15 years old.

Two and a half men was my dad's routine show every night, which was quite abysmal in comparison to those that came before. You can really see a decline.

There's a reason why people point to TBBT as the point where it all just fell apart. The Middle was okay I guess but it's all over the place in quality. It's kinda crazy how even random stuff like According to Jim, The George Lopez Show, Reba, The Hughleys, The Bernie Mac Show, and Home Improvement were solid sitcoms. I loved Bernie Mac in particular, I remember liking it as much a MitM but it's been years so maybe it's just an impression I got growing up. Rip Bernie Mac.

Absolute nu-yakqueen fan take. Kiwami 2 is simply ok, kiwami 1 is a broken mess and full of faggot majima moments for no reason. 0 becomes a real estate mini game grindfest halfway through. The original 1 and 2 are the perfect blend of grittiness, over-the-top jap autism and satisfying combat. Everything else is garbage.
>>
>>730617580

Just avoid the substories and the two Ichiban games and you'll have a great time with the rest of them.
>>

RGG Studio has more than 300 employees. Nagoshi is keeping the count under 100, it was something around 80 in their latest fiscal report.

Going from 0 to Kiwami 1 was just a huge dip in quality. Kiwami 1 feels like a really long DLC given how it's entirely an asset flip.

>>
>>730620523
Weird. I thought him and Terence Hill were completely unkown outside of that area because what reason would anglos or americans or frogs would have to know or care about these ancient B-movies.
>>
>>730609559
>>730608923
People really need to temper expectations for the scale of this game. It's gonna be more like Yakuza 1 in scale than Infinite Wealth or Sleeping Dogs. Unless the screenshots they posted on Steam have a placeholder minimap, the level design is clearly exactly the same as Yakuza, so adding actual driving into that kind of map seems really improbable. The dev team is only 80 people. It's most likely not going to be an open world game where you can freely drive around.
My guess is since there is apparently vehicle combat that driving is relegated to some kind of racing minigame. I wouldn't be surprised if its a situation where you dont even directly control the car yourself and instead you collect and upgrade parts and weapons for your vehicle and they auto-battle other vehicles. Like an extreme version of Pocket Circuit.

Ma Dong Seok is a kino machine. Roundup 2 and 3 are some of my favorite Korean movies and he's working with the same director for his next 3 films.
I just hope he actually did the voicework and mocap for the game instead of just scanning his face. I don't think he even speaks Japanese so I'm worried they're just gonna have some Japanese actor doing his dialogue for him.

Unless the character is a semi-mute like Sam in Death Stranding where he could crank out the entire recording in a few days I doubt it. He's a huge star in Korea right now and there's no way he spent much time working on this
>>
>>730622147
>no way he spent much time working on this
Why would you think that lmao. Korea isn't that big of a market, "huge star in Korea" isn't a big deal
>>
>>730602014
The fact that they didnt even announce a release year or any gameplay footage for this makes me worried it's just gonna end up getting cancelled. Especially since NetEase is pulling all the funding of every non-Chinese studio.

Well there's also the fact he doesn't even speak the language. Unless his character speaks Korean at all the Japanese characters I don't see how he could do the dialogue.
