Got into Warhammer really really hard again after I picked up Darktide during the winter sale. Flaws aside (i.e the BLARING cash shop) I do kind of find it a bit of a wonder it got made in the first place. People can meme and LARP about guardsmen being cool all they like but making you play as shitter dregs (not even actual guardsmen) instead of just going the easy route and playing as spess mehreens is a pretty brave decision. Also setting it in a hive city is brave as fuck as well, the amount of effort you have to put into map design for something you'll see for like, a second at most (i.e the starting bit before you actually shoot anything) is crazy as well. I dunno where I was going with this, I just think it's a pretty interesting concept for a game given how easy they could've made things for themselves. I know it's literally just Vermintide 3 (and Vermintide was just warhammer left 4 dead edition) but I really think they could've just gone "ok you play as 4 space marines and you kill tyranids" and that's it. Still think it's pretty lazy you only fight Nurgle worshippers though.

The HH novel series produced only shit, the "lore" revelations it revealed were literally all to the detriment of the setting, and all of the new things they introduced were ten thousand times worse than the barebones plot we had before. There is no argument against these facts.
