Gone are the days where you had to invest points in trapfinding/lockpicking (which basically guarantees you a place in a party), sneak attack has far less limitations than it did in 1 and 2. BG3's modified take just runs all those positives up the flagpole and then hands you a ton of toys that are very rogue friendly and drowns you in poisons. He can't fucking help but be useful. Clerics on the other hand these days have gone from being explicitly mandatory and CR-beaters to "Well spirit guardians is pretty nice" they aren't shit but we're no longer in 3.5 Kansas.

He's the only party member that isn't completely full of themselves and lording it over the player character, as he is self-aware that he is just a noob pretending to be a hero and is going to end up a devil's bitch.I also didn't mind his initial "romance" hook all that obtrusive. BG3 is an amazing game that could've been much better
Hard carried by the fun and indepth nature of D&D and utterly fails at telling an interesting unique story. I bought this games just to play D&D and I'm not disappointed.
