I recommend Ys Memories: Oath in Felghana. It uses Docked scaling in handheld mode which makes everything crisp. it's a port of the PSP version but with higher res textures from the PC version, and other bonuses. A great Action RPG game with allegedly one of the better narratives in the series, for anyone wanting a comfy game with a story to follow and fun gameplay. It's also on GOG for pc bros that are interested.

I'll agree to this one.
Very fun title.
I'll toss out Astral Chain.
While it doesn't have custom patch/upgrade yet the base power upgrade has it running smoother and sharper so it's a cleaner experience now.

A good game. I did think it already ran pretty solid on Switch though.

It had a few issues here or there, but its a lot more stable and pixelizes far less.

yeh it's good, it's on ps5 also. something about this art style/era of ys games is unbelievably chill and great. ys origin will forever be my ultimate comfort food japanese AA arpg...just the most basic utilitarian dungeon crawling and light puzzling that hits just right, like what i always wished zelda would be

I'm down for a replay after Ys X sucked so much ass.
>It uses Docked scaling in handheld mode
Neat if true. This really should've been a baseline for all S1 games.

There are Zelda elements in them. But I just miss when a Zelda game was a Zelda game. I replayed parts of Majora's Mask over christmas and god, I just miss that whole era of Zelda where it's just kind of an adventure game. Whether you define that as "story driven" or not, to me it's similar to a point and click in the sense that so much of it is about going to a location, or a "room", and then checking the room out for its details. They weren't really about the gameplay controls though those are serviceable. I just miss the feeling of entering each area in the game, and being like "so what's the content in this place."

Playing Ys is a bit closer to Diablo where a dungeon is more like a combat gauntlet with some puzzles inside it, about flicking some switches and triggering some NPC dialogue, to then find the bosses. I prefer Zelda where the main world is about knowing where to go next, unlocking some side-content, and then dungeons are very concentrated puzzle rooms. There were no games outside of 3D Zelda that were "Zelda-likes". Darksiders and Okami did it, but besides that, none. And then BotW came out and now that genre doesn't exist anymore.

this game is shit, stop shilling the hundredth port of it

It's 60fps and 1080p in handheld. I played it a bunch over christmas. You can also choose between the remaster sprites or the OG ones, and disable voice acting if you hate it. It's basically a mixture of the PC and PSP version with a lot of customization.

Bakeru on Switch 2 runs at a constant 60FPS and has faster load times. A lot smoother compared to playing it on Switch 1, which benefits it a lot as an action game.

I don't think Dread had dynamic resolution and it already ran at 60 so the only difference there could really be would be load times.

>Mario 3d World?
Dunno about it but Bowser's Fury is nice now that it's not 30fps in handheld.

>game gets put on 30-50% every month
wonder if ubisoft is regretting that now that they are dead.
lmao

Main thing I noticed personally was the alternate skins loading instantly compared to Switch 1, most noticeable on the DLC characters. Can't say I noticed anything different elsewhere, maybe faster loadtimes?
