Nah it's great, solid 8.5 to 9, but i'm still mad about the cut magic academy, its removal makes the rest of the game just padding until the finale, they easily could have squeezed two more dungeons in there.

Borrowing so many elements from Persona hurt it since all those features (calendar system, social links) are pretty pointless. Manages to botch a job system which is really funny. Also way too easy, even on hard. Most late game bosses don't even get a turn.

Why switch to another job when you can stick with one, gather up all those EXP items, and use them all to master multiple jobs without ever touching them? People really want Personal 6, so they hoped to capture it in Hashino’s new game, but it wound up being too derivative. I enjoyed it, but it took no risks and thus made no interesting impression. Good story beats though.Based on Hashino’s recent interview, I suspect he knows he needs to change things up if he wants this to be Atlus’ new pillar IP. He showed channel whatever energy he had when he made Catherine for its seauel, but even then, that game borrowed similar game design and systems from Persona. He needs an Aonuma Breath of the Wild moment and throw his playbook out the window.

The P5 franchise has only sold 7 or 8 million since 2016, and that includes P5, P5R, P5S, P5T, Persona Q 2 and so on. 2 million is about as good as it's gonna get for a brand new game.
