I like autistically doing the same thing over and over again, i heard it's a good space trucking simulator.

It's super grindy, and sometimes flying to a ""nearby"" star system you can't jump to since its so close takes a solid 30 minutes, I just minimized and browsed /a/ while waiting once.

Honestly Elite isn't really doing the same thing over and over, but more a test of patience. Some things can take weeks to do in game like exploring the furthest reaches of space, and you can shake things up on the way like discovering and exploring planets, but it's very slow going. Of course you don't have to just explore. There is also fighting, and the whole political system in the bubble you can work on. Still if you have really good patience, and don't mind sitting and waiting around for long periods, then get it. Personally I enjoyed the political systems the most so I never had to leave the bubble.

I wanted to like the space trucking aspect of this game, but that - along with other general rpg elements - I already found in Starsector.
Still, the visuals and sound design are fucking gorgeous.

Is it worth getting into this as a "casual" player? (as in, play a few hours a week)
