I've read somewhere that increasing Control is the best choice for the begginer, as the starting characters shot for shit distance even if you don't gimp them, and that 1 m wind is around 3 ft. But every time I try to make an adjustement for the wind and backspin the ball, I end up 20 ft away or more. And it's still possible to get a birdie here but I pretty much can't for the life of me properly aim the ball along any curvy path

If you see that most of the time your timing is off because you hit too early (ball deviates to the left) or too late (ball deviates to the right), you can try to compensate by aiming a bit to the right or a bit to the left respectively>But every time I try to make an adjustement for the wind and backspin the ball, I end up 20 ft away or more.a backspin will make the ball travel higher, which means it'll be afected even more by the wind, and the longer the shot, the more it'll be afectedThe way I do it is: if the wind hits from the front, I topspin, if the wind hits from behind, I backspin (unless I can go out of bounds/water/etc.), if the wind hits from the sides, I deviate my shot to the side the wind is blowing. ie: wind hits from the left, I aim a bit more to the leftyou can also try to side-spin the ball to counter the wind, but that's a bit more tricky, and some characters can pull it of better than others, and some characters can only pull it off depending on which side the wind is blowingAlso, you probably already know this, but if you give your ball a backspin, it'll travel less on the ground, and the opposite, a topspin will make it travel more.
