Remember those weird few years when FF15 was revealed to actually be a thing, like a real game that was being developed that would be available to be purchased at some point in time? And how much of the passive advertising was "the nightmare of Lightning is over, Final Fantasy is saved, bro look we got crystals it's Final Fantasy" and then the game came out.And then the internet basically recycled that same script for FF16 because it was by the MMO guy so it wasn't going to have any of the problems of FF13 or 15.I can't wait to see how people will try to fluff FF17 as being the thing that saves Final Fantasy just for the thing to drop off a cliff in a week as some other JRPG takes the spotlight.
I'm interested to see what they would do with FF17, will it be like FF7r or FF16 or will it be turned based?
