I'm up to cold steel 3 and this one feels particularly like nothing is happening. The whole game is just reintroducing characters from the last 2 games and then I just assume it's over. God cold steel sucks, I hope the next arc is better.

Just finished the Fragments chapter of CSIV and while I've been enjoying the games quite a bit I think at this point I'm just totally tuned out of the story. The cast bloat, the lack of consequences, the endless "tests of resolve"... The fight between Crow and Rean actually had me groaning for it to end, my god how many more times do we have to do this? It feels like with every game Falcom just stuffs in a bunch of filler because they're desperate to make the game have enough content to ask for full price, then towards the end of the development they remember they actually have to move the story forward somehow.
