this is too hard. why are they making me identify the homeless population.
>>
Was definitely stumped on that one too. I think I just brute forced it in the end. Trying to figure it out from the diaries all in different locations was a pain.

I just brute forced it. thanks.

i didn't mind the homeless part because it was part of the story somewhat
The dumb boat on the other hand had very little to do with anything.

I thought though, too, but then I had a plot revelation.

I feel like there are a lot of inconsequential busywork puzzles in the sequel. At least you don't have to solve them all to move on.
>>
Still wondering what's next for this dev. The final DLC seemed like a conclusion to the "Golden Idol" series or at least them moving on from the Idol as a plot device.
>>
>>730657256
I gave up on the 3rd DLC of the sequel, because the puzzles were becoming way too obtuse for my liking. Is the last one better in that regard, or at the very least is the story worth it?
>>

They have a demo up for their new game. It's some British schoolgirl summer camp game with tumblr noses. Looks like a point n click too.
>>
>>730658146
Yeah definitely, it doesn't have another fake-language puzzle for one and no Golden Idol at all. On the story side, it concludes the fates of some characters from the first game which is why it feels like a farewell to the series.

City of Voices is one of the Idol designers going solo and not by the studio, right?
>>
>>730659062
idk good luck to them though

>City of Voices
Why do they insist on making their games ugly? I don't get it.
>>
At some point I gaslighted myself into believing that the game was going through events backwards in time or something.
>>
>>730659383
This is true in a few cases. It's not always linear.

This is one of the more tedious cases, but it's not THAT bad either.
At least you don't have to connect the big dot to the other big dot yet.

It's not that hard
These games aren't nearly as hard as obra dinn
>>
>>730664643
My dog beat Obra Dinn
>>
>>730664643
Obra Dinn is 50% easy as hell, 30% fun detective work, 10% tedium, and 10% "damn, man, that's wild."
Golden Idol is 30% easy, 40% "making a series of assumptions and hoping they're right," 20% "making new assumptions in the event your original ones were wrong" and 10% staring at weird-ass situations, marveling at them.
>>
>>730658146
The 3rd DLC really clicked for me when I realized the events in the past are happening in reverse order while the events in the present are happening in chronological order.
>>
>>730659316
It's to make things harder to see, so that you take a second to see what you are looking
>>
>>730665823
That's the 4th and last DLC. 3rd is the super advanced ancient civilization one
