>Having fun>Realize I made mistakes in my priorities and strategical decisions 4 hours ago>Enemy factions are exponentially better than me and I can't possibly catch up>20+ hour game ruinedWhy do I even bother? I'm too brainlet for grand strategy games and I don't have time needed to brute force this. Fucking Terra Invicta.
Sell me on this game. It looks kinda cool.
I tried but dropped it after two hours, early game is so utterly boring and RNG driven, I don't care if it gets better later, early game being this dogshit is inexcusable
opening the tech tree freezes my computer for 5 seconds
can you unite the world without mods now? used to be only India could do it through chain annexations and moving capitals.also, how are you meant to keep aggro down? when the aliens invade you either fight them and go to total war and lose all your space stuff or they conquer the whole world.there's no way you can fight their fleets as early as the 2030s.
>>730655817Funny, cause to me the early game was the fun part.>Send probes to Jupiter>Get a "PROBE ARRIVED" message every fucking ingame dayI want to play this again but I need a step by step guide with the list of all the priorities I should be focusing on, and, more importantly, build orders. I spent 70% of the mid game researching all these different drives and turrets and then in the ship designer I realize all I did was add a million more worthless options that I had to sift through.
I have no fucking clue what I should be focusing on at the start. By the time I get to do anything in space the AI is miles ahead of me
>>730655330Paradox like game where you plan on a world map with numbers and NRG and nothing happens and you end up uninstalling the game after few hours>>730656003shut up autist
>>730656003I assume you're just supposed to upgrade your fleet until you're strong enough that alien aggro doesn't matter, and until then you lay as low as you can so they don't blow your shit up.
>>730656176I guess you're supposed to dominate as much of the world as possible so you get a lot of boost. Then you start mining operations as soon as possible and get a big pile. Then you focus on just the right 10 technologies out of 600 possibilities to make your ships OP. Then you build those ships and wreck shit.Like I said, I need fucking build orders for this.
>>730656176if you werent a retard, you would know you have to take the control points with the most funding, research and space points. Basically reset the game until you start with 9 level charisma agents to spread propaganda in Russia and Japan and take their control points. Reload the game when it fails or enemy take control. This is how the game was designed, to cheese it or to always fail and get behind
>>730655330Somewhat hard sci-fi about aliens coming from a wormhole and you are a shadow organization trying to deal with them. There's a full spectrum of playable factions from "All hail our new alien overlords." to "Kill them all and kill everyone in our way."It's a quintessential spreadsheet simulator but with a pretty good UI. Space battles are more there to be set up and watched though since actually controlling them might give me an aneurysm
>>730656176>focusing on at the startBoost
>>730655330pure turn based strategy and planning without action
>>730656450When does the game allows you to control USA or China? It seem it always has 0% chance to get a control point
performance is absolute dogshitsuper laggy on medium solar system detail, and that was in 203X when I finished my servants playthrough with barely anyone having a fleet
>>730656529I think you're supposed to capture the surrounding areas and go with a coup d'etat. So lots of public speaking on China and try to create unrest.China is probably easier than US because it has a lot more surrounding regions.
>>730656529Get more charisma and do public campaigns. Once you have about a 4% to 5% chance just spam it to get inevitably lucky. And with one control point, the unity priority increases your popularity on its own so it becomes easier to take more control points.
>>730656702runs fine on my machine
>>730656529take Canada and Mexico, level up your persuasion dude with more persuasion, public campaign in the USA, and then spend some influence over 2-3 tries to get the first point.China is just a harder version of that.
Hope someone is working on a guide for this.
>>730656176I finished two campaigns myself. You pick your power base. A nation with strong unifying potential, ideally with science and boost. My favorite is France, as you can start unifying the EU right away. You scrape together enough boost to launch probes and ideally set up a good mine on the Moon and/or Mars. Then you'll have resources to build more mines in the asteroid belt quicker. The aliens will eventually invade Earth with armies, which you'll need at least 10 naval-capable armies to defeat. The servants will try to feed them nations too by building facilities, so you'll have to scan for those. Both will piss off the aliens enough to blow up all your space stuff with impunity, but your alternative is letting them conquer Earth. You hunker down on Earth and research fusion drives, quickly set up a dock somewhere and build fast colony ships, set up small mines all over the Oort belt and more colony ships so you can produce tens of thousands of resources even as the aliens blow up your mines. Meanwhile you research the rest of the techs. Finally, you build a T3 fortress/shipyard somewhere which you hold as you build your fleets. Then you can take the fight to the aliens in space and it's just a matter of time until you win.
>>730656909just ask grok what to do if youre a brainlet, i guess you are the kind too dumb to play Dwarf Fortress
>>730656986What a retarded idea. It'll have outdated information from the EA days. You're the brainlet.
>>730654945In Paradox games you can take an L and still play on: concede a little, consolidate, rebuild, launch a new attack in a few years/decades.
>>730656127kekKEKK E K
>>730656176Literally how? 2035 and I'm miles ahead of every other faction in terms of CPs, resources, science etc.Are you playing on hard? Because AI on normal is braindead.
>>730657721Have the aliens started invading and mind controlling shit yet? Cause that was the turning point for me.
>1.0 has a new scenario that starts in 2026 instead of 2022>The USA has shit cohesion now so it went from being THE best start to a shit start
>>730656176Get Councilors with good persuasion to start. Get France (can unify EU) and Kazakhstan (huge boost for early space expansion), then focus on the USA. Once you have all of USA start creating unified EU using the USA army to annex countries controlled by other factions. For reserch priorize unlocking more councilor slots as they're the best source of control points. Get 1-2 bases on the moon with good fissile materials and try to get all the good bases on mars. Build your research stations on mercury (solar panels produce more energy on mercury).
>>730658430So the game is woke?
>>730659121No, it's accurate
>>730655330This game was created by the people who made the Long War mods for the nu XCOM. They simply removed the combat part and made Excel tables in 3D.
>>730656909What fun is there to play with a guide? I have a friend who follows guides and I don't understand it. Isn't the fun part figuring out what to do and seeing if you're doing it right or not? With guides playing is just menial execution of instructions, unless the game demands skill on that part.
>>730658430isn't low cohesion easily solved by declaring random wars tho or making india a rival or something
>>730659945I haven't played TI but I did play Long War and I didn't find it fun to realize I lost my run 15h ago because the game didn't explain it's mechanics properly. I don't mind figuring stuff out if there's either multiple solutions or it doesnt' take long to rest if I guessed badly, neither of which is true in LW. It's a mod that requires you to read a guide before you even start playing, in those types of games I treat guides like a replacement for game manuals
>>730654945I feel the same, this is why I'm scared to touch 4xs, RTSs and factotio
>>730659510>They simply removed the combat part and made Excel tables in 3D.So it's single-player EVE?
Is the mid game better in 1.0? I played 0.7 and both early and late game were fun but mid game was a slog of passing turns waiting for research to finish for dozens of hours.
>>730659945Well, I tried it that way already and eventually I got fucked. Now I need a guide to make sure I get as far as I did in my first playthrough without getting soft locked.
>>730654945I sincerely enjoyed the game, but I will never play it again. The grind to meet all the final victory conditions got so incredibly tedious. The first 2/3rds of the game are a genuinely fresh and worthwhile experience though.
>>730659121Yea It's pretty woke. Democracy is stat and the more DEMOCRACY a country has the better the country is.
>>730660627rather Aurora 4x with a modern graphical interface
>>730659121Yeah the best country that gives the most reaserch has max democracy and diversity
>the initiative sends the equivalent of a kamikaze at a defenceless hab>never does it again>humanity first sends repeated attacks at my habs and I just have to rebuild them and build decoys for them to destroy>the resistance strikes my hab above the moon>lay waste to both humanity first and the resistance's habs above earth for being niggersRight now humanity first are camping out like niggers constantly under threat from aliens in VestaI noticed the devs removed the ability for a player to eurasiamaxx though, I can't annex georgia and armenia like I could in earlier versions.
>>730661437Just annex as many countries as possible to russia then annex russia to europe
Nah, just get China. China is yuge.
Not even memeing but India is the best start in 1.0
Damn, this game looks really cool. I've been shilled.
>>730655330Military sim where half the characters are women with short hairEuropeans are brown whilst Africans, Indians, Arabs, the Chinese and aSEAns are white.Voice acting sounds like AI.The gameplay trailer doesn't actually show the game because there is no game.
>>730661265>>730661352>illuminati wargame about chauvinism against literal genocidal aliens>democracy and racial division are strengths...?
