Which results in very little freedom and skill expression, you do exactly what the game says, but I guess some people prefer this kind of laser focused experience, it's kind of like a rhythm game.

>>730659395The whole point of the torture chamber is because it's his attempt to subdue Yi without killing him because he knows he'll respond at a root node somewhere. I assumed it was just a diagetic way to justify respawns but Jiequan mentions it in the plot, and Yi's ability to come back to life seemingly never comes up again. Outside of the intro and the cutscene showing Yi blowing himself up by mistake I assumed him respawning wasn't actually meant to be part of the plot, but it is for this one character and then no one else seems to notice that Yi has infinite retries.

And I wouldn't even say she's harder than them. It's just such a steep spike that it feels like you have to relearn the game.

The difficulty is in how many things she can combo almost any attack into. No boss up until this point has this level of juking. There are so many combinations of moves she can throw out that there is no hope in actually being comfortable with her. She can spam moves, not finish the full move you expect, and switch it into something else, her unbounded counter stuns are deceptively short to punish even a thought of countering and doing a full control of the 5 bar talisman slap, and so on. The only bullshit moment I see with her is the opener of 3rd phase with her Virgil slashes screen. No one, realistically would be able to react to this.

>>730660631The big one is that I never got the hang of unbound counter before her. You do have to use it before her. But the context is so much more forgiving that I'd never been forced to actually get good with it. And the same applies to a somewhat lesser extent to just parrying consistency in general. Before her, it's not that big of a deal if you let a hit slip in here and there. But with her you need to be at least getting a partial parry on almost everything.
