The mouse pointer works on where to shoot and you can map the buttons too. The calibration is done in game of course. It just so happens the most major addition to control Wii and DS added to games was already present on PC for decades: pointing and clicking. Since most waggle actions are so rudimentary there exists literally hundreds of per-game hacks to convert them to button presses, and even built in binding environments to translate them to button presses in emulators it's not the most convincing handwaving of the uniqueness of PS2. From the way the interlacing is rendered to the UI, the way the GPU is being used to create bleeding edge 3D, emulation can only approximate it, and upscaling reveals all kinds of tricks the developers would use at the time in very obvious illusion shattering detail.Like I said, emulation is better than not playing at all, but I play PS2 to play PS2. The games are more than just software on a disc.
