The biggest and strongest ships in War Thunder are destroyers, and it's focused mainly on patrol boats and frigates. The scale and power level is way smaller in War Thunder.

The prices on premium ships are insane (a single ship costs basically the same as a new AAA game), and of course many premium ships are better than stuff you unlock in the tech trees.

Plenty of heavy ships now though and I think they are gonna be heading into missile boats soon if the coastal boats are anything to go by. I just looked it up and there are 180 ships light cruiser or better right now.
