>DLSS 4.5 Performance is better than DLSS 4.0 Quality
This is actually a huge win for NVIDIA
>>
Trans pixels are just as valid as real pixels.
>>
>>730667373
Wow, it looks better and worse at the same time.
>>
its more relevant in future gpus where they add more cores that crunch the dlss related tasks and such
>>
Let's see it in motion.

if you have a 50s GPU by all means its better, its especially good for cards like 5070ti and 5080 because they can now play in 4K with really good image quality using DLSS performance
>>
The naming scheme is such fucking aids...
Why is one called Preset K quality and the other Preset M performance?
Does that mean there is a Preset K performance and will there be a Preset M quality?!
>>
>>730667595
thats the main thing for 4.5, it looks much better in motion than 4.0

>>
>>730667640
yeah newer DLSS versions have ultra performance, performance, balanced, quality and DLAA
Preset K is 4.0, preset M is 4.5, the best one available
Theres also an extra 4.5 preset, preset L, that is mostly focused on ultra performance if you have a slower card, and it looks pretty good honestly

In datacenters where you stream your games from.
Saving some energy and making it cheaper, for them, well...gamers need to understand that this is awesome!
No lube.

Each letter means is a different algorithm, some presets will work better with certain game engines and so on. Normally every preset letter worked with all modes (quality, performance, ultra, etc.).
But starting from 4.5 the two newer presets (L and M) are optimized to work with Performance and Ultra Performance modes, you can still use Quality and Balanced modes but you will not get all the benefits of the new algorithm.
They will release a new preset letter for the other modes later.
Also the higher the letter the more modern it is.

I'm convinced now, do you have more examples?

Look for stuff like bottles and the NPC in the back

you might be blind and/or braindamaged

>>730667929
So, if I got this - using DLSS 4.5 preset L i should set the ingame setting to Performance for the best results?
>>
>DLSS
don't care
Where is Reflex 2??
>>
>>730668067
The fact that you're getting a slightly superior image from a lower internal resolution in performance mode is what is notable here, you're saving a lot of resources and getting a superior result.
>>
>>730668210
M is performance and L is Ultraperformance.
>>
>>730668210
depends on which card you have, go for Preset M if you have a good card (5070 and above or 4080 and above)
if you have, lets say, a 5060 ti and want to play on 4K, use Ultra Performance and preset L

>>730668881
Ok, thanks. Was mostly asking just so I know whats up. Still on a 3080 myself, so I'll stick to DLSS 4.0, and will probably wait for the 6000 series since I don't really need more performance right now.
>>
>>730669060
yeah don't bother with 4.5 if you're on a 30s card unless the game is easy to run because theres at least a 10-15% dip in performance with older cards
>>
>>730669060
if 3080 had more vram people would go "hmm I should wait until 7000 series"
>>
Do games need to be "optimized" for 4.5 or does it work at its full potential out of the box?
>>
>>730667373
Meanwhile the said quality vs perf settings still mean lower performances on anything but 5xxx cards

oh its FRAME GEN that's not supported
well that sux
I guess I'll keep using lossless scaling then :)
it works good on elden ring and other soul games that have locked 60fps caps (ye I know about fps unlockers but shit gets wonky specially on DS1)
>>
Not my problem. I run my games at 720p and my video card doesn’t support DLSS.

Used DLSS Swapper and forced the preset with Special K, this the performance setting (1080p)
It looks ok i guess

>entire PC ecosystem is reverting back to the RTX 3060 with Nvidia themselves saying they can't economically produce anything more advanced than a 3060 in 2026 for the gamer market
>Same exact company: "btw here's more aislop that's not compatible with 30xx series cards that'll give developers even more reasons to not optimize lmao"
Why does nobody seriously firebomb Nvidia? Are they headquartered on some remote island with machine gun mounted patrol boats? Just ram the building with a van with explosives already you fucking pussies. No balls.

stop being poor lol
