I want to get into the Kirby Series. I’ve only played Superstar and Epic Yarn. Is this tier list accurate?
>>730669718There's a really good infographic flowchart floating around about where to start and what to do depending on what you liked about the game.Honestly this tier-list is fucking stupid and doesn't actually tell you what you are getting into (and is also in a lot of ways extremely subjective).
So I will at the very least help by first askingWhat did you like about Superstar if you can remember?
>>730669718Looks pretty good to me
No.But I've seen worse.Super Star (Ultra) and Robobot are the best 2D gamesDream Land 2/3/Kirby 64 constitute a trilogy of games that have simplistic copy ability movesets instead of near smash bros-tier options in the others. Return to Dreamland, Squak Squad, Triple Deluxe, Amazing Mirror, and Star Allies are all very similar titles.Co-op is the best way to play when available.Forgotten Land is a great time.Air Riders is the best spinoff. You really can't go wrong though. I'd atart with Adventure and Dream Land 1/2/3 if you have the basic NSO pass and go from there.
>>730669718List makes no sense, Return to Dreamland Wii is at least an A and Squeak Squad is worse than most games on the list.Air Riders in S is copium for buying a Switch 2.
>>730669718Crystal Sharts above F tier is pure nostalgiafagging/lolicon propaganda, the game objectively sucks. Epic Yarn also should be minimum A tier, people just hate it because there isn't enough "difficulty" in a fucking Kirby game.
>>730669718thats moderately poisoned by recency bias but I do think forgotten land is far better than hardcore fans are willing to admit
>>730669718no kirby game is A or above you dumb faggot. they are all B at most as they are all middling at beast
>>730670206This whole tierlist stinks of recency bias to be honest. RtD and RtDX should not be S to D tier
>>730669718>Is this tier list accurate?Dream Course at the bottom is retarded and Dream Land 3 is way better than games like Star Allies and it's at least an absolute improvement over 2. Top should be 64 and Super Star/Super Star Ultra. Also as a remake Nightmare in Dreamland looks like shit and I don't get how can people prefer it graphically over Adventure. All the mainline games are good but beware that Adventure Wii, Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot are basically the same game style-wise and differ in gameplay only with their respective gimmick: these are IMO all bad and basically "you are invincible, have fun now" with the notable exception of Robobot's mechas.
>>730669718Robobot and Super Star not being S is dumb.
>>730669718Super Star is the best then there is a large power gap
>>730669718Close enough for the main series as I'd only move any given game up or down one tier. This one is absolutely underrating certain spinoffs though; Dream Course is at least a B if not A, Epic Yarn and Air Ride 1 are both good, and there's real fans out there for Canvas Curse, Mass Attack, Fighters 2, and Block Ball.
>>730672598Nah
>>730669718Why such a difference in rating between Wii Deluxe and the original version?
>>730669718I've been trying to finish Forgotten Land but I keep dropping it, when does it get good lads
>>730669718>Dream Course in bottom tierabsolute dogshit list
>>730670004Star Allies is nothing like those. It's an attempt to go back to superstar copy design with a bunch of moves, but all they really did was make each copy ability feel like the last, and with the additon of changing elements so all your moves just shit out extra projectiles and clog the screen in vomit when you have helpers. Also it has nonexistent stage design.
>>730677340It pales in comparison to Odyssey so I don’t blame you
Robobot is S desu. The mech sounds dumb on paper since Kirby is already so overpowered but it adds a lot to the game, level design is much more interesting with it involved. Return to Dreamland DX is pretty good but it's a pretty basic Kirby game. Eith context of its original release I get it, first console Kirby in ages and Wii probably had a shit ton of kids that never played Kirby before but recognized him from Smash Bros, but if youre going thru the whole series it is pretty samey. My hottest take is Amazing Mirror is pretty great, especially with multiplayer which isnt nearly as hard to accomplish now as it was back in the GBA days because of emulators or the Switch GBA app. Even if you have just one other player splitting up to get shit done and planning is really fun.
>>730669718No. This looks like a kirby tierlist made by people who don't like Kirby games
>>730677913Yeah, dream course in bottom tier is all you need to know the list is trash. For anyone who hasn't tried it, it's basically what air ride does to racing games that game does to golf. Also don't really see why the original air ride is barely above bottom tier while riders is top here.
>>730669718GOD DAMN THE RECENCY BIAS!also why tf is dream collection bottom of D? and RtDL is D but the deluxe is S??Horrible tier list. As for where to go next, I suggest Return to Dreamland, Planet Robobot, or the Dark Matter Trilogy (2, 3 and 64)
>>730681578Ok make one
dream land 3, 64 and superstar are the best ones and it's not even close
>>730669718>>730669907Here it is. I agree with it for the most part, just not how they describe Adventure and Dream Land as "I want simpler games" as while Kirby isn't as versatile in those two, there's still a lot of unique and interesting stuff done with the levels and the bosses are more engaging than Super Star's. They're still Kirby so they aren't hard but Adventure does have great bosses.
>>730685876FUCK forgot the image. Also "I get it, 3D please" could be a path for any game on this list, Forgotten Land is great.
>>730685957Can’t read that shit
>>730685957I honestly do not think there is a bad game on here. Some are not great but none bad. Kirby is probably one of the most consistently good vidya franchises.
>>730686720Get off mobile or use the mobile site which loads images in full resolution.
>>730669718Absolutely not.>Forbidden Land is alright but levels overstay their welcome constantly. It's middle-of-the-road at best.>Return to Dreamland is just okay, nothing crazy, and putting it over Star Allies which was better is very confusing.>Robobot is great.>Triple Deluxe is mundane at its very best.>Air Ride at anything but at least B is insulting, and then to put it on par with Epic Yarn is even more insulting to everyone's intelligence.>Epic Yarn not being in its own tier at the bottom makes no sense. It plays itself and you have to do no damage runs where you try your best to keep up the multiplier just to not fall asleep. It's incredible at the OST and aesthetics but nothing else.>Canvas Curse being that low is extremely questionable.>Super Stacker and Tilt n' Tumble that low is also beyond confusing.>Dream Course at the bottom is insane.
>>730669718>Kirby air riders wank alreadyew
Have people considered other logical game groupings outside of the obvious Dark Matter Saga?>Sakurai SagaDL1/Adventure/Superstar, focus on the basic concepts of the series>Flagship CollectionAmazing Mirror/Squeak Squad, oddly a strange collect-a-thon for a Kirby game but in two vastly different ways>The Returning SagaRtD, Triple Deluxe, RobobotThe return era of Kirby that defined modern Kirby going forward
>>730669718I don't like the Sakurai era old Kirby games, too slow and boring for me. Would I still like the newer 2D titles?
>>730690847The old sakurai games are fast in comparison to modern kirby games. The GBA/NDS games had the quickest pace and best weight to them, but they also had more simplistic ability movesets compared to Sakurai/Modern Kirby
>>730690847Are you sure you're thinking of Sakurai? Dreamland 1, Adventure and Superstar are Sakurai. The incredibly slow Dreamland 3 and Kirby 64 are not Sakurai. If you think Adventure is too slow, then no, you won't like other Kirby games either (spinoffs excluded; Air Riders is incredibly fast for example).>>730677340It's great in world 1 and 2, peaks in world 3, is still great in world 4, then drops off a bit in world 5 and 6, finishing up with a fantastic final boss. If you don't like the early game, you won't like the rest either. I personally consider Forgotten Land the best Kirby game (though I haven't played Robobot yet, that one also gets a lot of hype).>>730669718Epic Yarn is basically just not a Kirby game. It has the Kirby brand but its gameplay is entirely unrelated. If you enjoyed Super Star, you'll also like other (non-spinoff) Kirby games to varying degrees.
