I'LL COME BACK
AGAIN AND AGAIN
I'LL COME BACK
>>
I don't care what anyone else says, good song for the trailer.
>>
Kino souls 2
>>
Too bad the game was so shit that it took them years to recover. ER took a massive dump on the series now tho.
>>
>>730685595
What's wrong with Elden Ring?
>>
>>730685614
It's too popular.
>>
>>730685614
Try playing it without a guide. Mines are hard to find, so good luck getting bells. Drop rates for stones are retarded low. Quests are impossible to organically do.
>>
>>730685956
>Quests are impossible to organically do.
Is it really that bad? DS1 to some extent and DS2 had quests you could easily follow, DS3 was bit more wonky but they made it harder in ER?
>>
>>730685381
Yeah because fromdrones can't stop buying every next soulslop released.
>>
>>730685956
Every mine is marked on the map. Just say you're a contrarian, and the game is too popular
>>
>>730686005
Dark souls 1 had a series of quests that made sense in who interested you and what interested you.

Being a faith character, you would talk to the monk and follow the steps he lays out “we are going to the catacombs” to then find faith scaling weapons, faith spells, white stones for faith weapons, and faith upgrade path items.

Same with pyromancy, same with sorcery.

This falls to pieces in an open world game where not only does anyone refuse to specifically tell you where they’re going, but apparently marking anything on a map is an unknown concept.

Elden ring was very badly designed, but Miyazaki sat back and let the same faggot that made dark souls 2 make this. And that is why it’s so bad
>>
>And the appeal for this game is you die a lot and have to re-do the section over and over.
cool, amazing.
>>
Wrong. And I have proof for faggots like you.

https://t.me/InDeathStranding/1775
>>
The only time this game felt like it gotcha'd me was in earthen peak, near the top there's like a side path and the ground fell under me and I died. It was dark but not dark enough for a torch.
>>
>>730685956
>Mines have a very specific visual marker on the map
>NPC Quests happen organically if you simply listen to what they say
>>
>>730686005
>Is it really that bad?
some of the questlines arent that bad but certain ones basically require a guide like rannis questline
>>
>>730686389
I think I know what you're talking about, the platform that falls once you jump over to it? It falls in DS2 but I believe they removed that in Scholar edition.
>>
>>730686396
Some do you dishonest faggot.

So show me the dialogue where the blind girl said she was going to be next for every step. I’ll wait.

You looked up everything on a guide faggot.
>>
>>730686441
It's still in Scholar but there it only falls when you cross over it again.
>>
>>730685381
Just lie still and we can wait for the sun...
>>
>>730686580
Oh is that so? Huh, and here I thought they just removed it. Thanks for that info.

>they made it harder in ER?
i like the er quest where some faggot wanted me to give a potion to some random girl id seen once in the hub area, so i went to the hub area and she wasnt there. i tried looking all over for her but never found her so i looked up where she was at and apparently she moved to some random hidden town inside a cave. i tried going to where it was at on the map and couldnt find it because the entrance was somewhat hidden and had to look up a video guide.

i really dont see how anyone would ever figure this out, especially considering youre meant to find the town first and then the guy, but the first time you go to the town she isnt there so realistically even if you did find the hidden town youd have literally no clue shed ever be there and youd likely never figure it out since theres no reason to ever go back to that area after you explore it for the first time

this is only one example of the quests, and they get progressively worse as the game goes on
>>
>>730686627
I remember it cause, and I forgot if this guy was there in vanilla, there's one of those crypt warden guys and you can aggro him and then make him fall to his death as the platform falls.
>>
>>730685381
DS1 and 2 both had trailers that introduced me to a really cool song. Then that never happened ever again. I'm not sad about it, just strange is all.
>>
>>730686752
It was either a Desert Sorceress or Manikin in the OG version of DS2, but I'm more inclined that it was a Desert Sorceress. But interesting to know.
>>
>>730686697
No way anon, cause according to this faggot glazer >>730686396 they just told you where they’re going!
>>
>>730685956
>Mines are hard to find, so good luck getting bells.

Nigga look at your map lmao
>>
>>730685956
That's exactly the point, you aren't supposed to find anything easily. Just follow the arrow pointing from each grace and if you ever feel like going off-track you might find something cool to do.
>>
>>730685381
YOU WILL LOSE YOUR SOULS
ALL OF THEM

Not really. If you just look at your zone map, you find literally every major point of interest clearly marked. The only exception is Caelid since the map is fucked up.

For me it's Locomotive Breath

Mistook mines for dungeons but yeah. Mines are a weird hole, churches are a rectangle, only the little trees have nothing indicating they're there but they're easy to spot if you're close by.

anyway i'm gonna play the BEST dark souls DS1 (prepare to die edition) HAHAHA
>>
>>730685956
I played it without any guide and everything you said is a positive aside from the quests but who gives a fuck about fromsoft quests
>>
>>730687064
So you struggle through an endless slog, dumping all items into some weapon because despite you having all upgrade materials you can’t find any level 4 smithing stones so you can’t upgrade new weapons to try

Wow fun. I once again hold that everyone that defends this piece of shit used a guide or summons to show them everything.

This games lock on points are meant for magic as well. It sucked.
>>
>>730686998
Only some are marked as shown on the link before. You just think that since you looked at the guides and never had to do it yourself

Bro I played the entire game just opening the map, and marking nearest structures on the map and checking what they were. You can clearly see them, use your fucking eyes.

SOTE forgot to place birdseye telescopes on the map for all 12 of us who used one.
>>

I looked nothing up on my forst playthroug, though.
>>
>>730686885
Her Dad is in Roundtable Hold and will deal with the potion for you. Know how I know this? I talked to the NPCs.
>>
>>730687943
Yeah great huh? Especially when they put points of interest outside of the draw distance for the telescope unless you zoomed in. Which you wouldn’t because you don’t see shit there.

Black Gulch was only annoying for me on NG+ where I got invaded 3 times by the woodland children and then the forsworn where I'd backpeddle and fight them near areas without statues.
>>
>>730688791
I just grinded souls in the Dragon Aerie so I wouldn't have to put up with that shit again
>>
>>730685381
kino, any other souls recs?

wild how that worked out
>>
>>730685381
DS2 drip was ridiculous
>>
>>730685956
have you tried actually playing the game and exploring it?
>>
>>730688981
Check out the Alan Wilder remix of the song (I'm undone - Nitzer Ebb). It goes hard for most of the song

>How will we know...
>>
>>730689253
Elden Ring PvP is the peak of FromSoft PVP under the correct circumstances. The issue is that the correct circumstances rarely manifest.
>>
>>730685956
I played without guides and had zero issues. I missed some quests but who cares. I also stumbled upon some which is cool to discover them like that.
>>
What I wouldn't give to see the original vision realized. The gameplay is there, you can sense the themes, everything needed to be a continuation of DS, but then the game looks like it's put together by cardboard and free assets. It completely destroys the environmental storytelling FS works are built upon. Can only assume important plotlines and characters where zanzibarted away last minute. You get the sense they got to a point where they went fuck this who cares anymore it's all a mess
>>
>>730689519
What are those circumnstances?
>>
>>730685956
I did, faggot, and I got damn near everything on my first playthrough of it while doing it without a guide
>>
/v/ is dogshit at video games
>>
>>730687132
Yeah but...
1. don't die
2. buy Agape Ring - if you can't get souls you can't lose them either :)
>>
>>730686009
Because souls games are good games
>>
>>730685956
>Quests are impossible to organically do.
I played it completely blind and googled nothing and nearly 100%ed it. I think the biggest thing I missed was parts of patches questline because I went to volcano manor early. Otherwise I don't think I missed anything notable

>Mines are hard to find,
Not really, if you actually explore you find them

Like literally, all you have to do is play the game and not run past things without looking at them

No Hit streamers did irreparable damage to this series because now everyone thinks the only way to play is to roll around naked and it's guiding how From designs the games going forward. The worst part is, I don't even know if they're aware it's their fault or if they're so caught up in the content mill they don't care.

>>

Nightreign kinda makes me believe From still understands that those players are just one niche. Even in their ultra hard gamemode, you can just get facetank builds going
>>
Vanilla and Scholar DS2 are so different and it's only partially due to enemy layouts. I had a +10 weapon in Scholar really early on and I hit level 150 without trying by the time I killed all the old ones. And this was on my first playthrough, I played vanilla 2nd.

yes, dark souls the game with such well designed quests such as:
having for some reason find onion knight in the far end of a swamp he never tells you about
having a main NPC give you tips that is extremely missable because you dared to kill the boss in the area instead of backtracking all the way back to firelink shrine with the boss still alive, which is the only time ever said NPC gives you this extremely important advice because fuck you good luck figuring this out
Patches turning hostile because you choose an incorrect option you had no idea of
The sorcerer apprentice dying off in a area you literally never have any reason to return to
Same thing with the other pyro apprentice
The entirety of "saving" solaire
>>

>>
>>730691817
That's actually true, I was being a bit of a doomer but if we get proper class abilities like in Nightreign we are headed in the right direction
>>
>>730692865
would be cool if they implement that sorta like sekiro prosthetics for sure. I only hope they don't insist on open world. it was cool for a one off but i liked the regular worlds more
>>
>>730693003
>would be cool if they implement that sorta like sekiro prosthetics
I was thinking more like Great Runes but actually useful outside of being a flat stat-stick.
>>
>>730689519
Elden Ring pvp was DoA because of the player limit.
Duels are boring because despite the thousands of weapon and ash of war combinations, nothing can match BHS thrusting swords so it also has no variety in the arena.
>>
>>730685381
>use sword in ALL promos

this was a double whammy after the graphics downgrade. And no, it wasn't the hiede's knight sword.
>>
>>730693723
The DS2 straight sword designs are kinda lame, the best one is the Fume's Sword which was DLC but it looks really cool. Same with the whip sword.

Patches is a trickster. He tricks you
Pyro apprentice only moves after you've cleared his entire stock and he moves to the same area with the better pyro teacher
Sorcerer apprentice goes to find his master who was once in sen's fortress and is now two areas after sen's fortress. You find loot similar to his around the level implying he's not the first to do this
>>
>>730693723
>graphics downgrade
