I brute-forced it and had a good time with the combat but I really didn't know where I was going for 90% of the run. I think I was in Death Mountain for most of my playthrough.

I'd play Zelda 2 over the Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, Echoes of Wisdom, single-olayer Four Swords, Four Swords Adventure, and Triforce Heroes any day of the week. Triforce Heroes solo is atrocious but it's really fun with two people.
