I just don't understand why it doesn't sell well. Why won't you try Metroid games?
They don't do well in Japan, but I believe a large reason why they just do mediocre in the states is because their presentation is that campy, safe and retro sci-fi style and that really hasn't done that well in a very long time other than Star Trek or Star Trek parodies like The Orville. That and a lot of these games are pretty short and "short but replayable" isn't popular unless it's a rougelike or lite.

>>730686912Scifi typically isn't popular in general. Also, you play a woman.

>>730688094Isn't it down in D?
>>730688149Whoops
>>730688094Nobody likes feds
>>730686912Fixed.No I didn't play Prime 4
>>730688235Hunters should be higher
>>730688352Nah I'm pretty happy with that. Would you move Prime 3 down though?
>>730688465Only if you move Prime 2 up.
>>730688235I used to put am2r up top but after a recent replay I'd have to knock it down a peg. the metroids are fucking trash across the board to fight. they literally chain i-frame animations into each other and fly around at light speed, meanwhile they stick your ass on 1 block floating over a spike bit. or make you fight in a dark pit where you can't even maneuver. they also get easier in the late game, and it's not even because you are stronger, they are just more simple to fight and you can actually move.
I’m not paying Nintendo prices for a metroidvania game lmao
>>730686912Bump dread and returns to c and d respectively
>>730686912Metroid's sales are hampered mainly by its most legendary titles coming out in times where either there were fewer people playing games in general and/or the console the game released on was a flop. In comparison the new titles, like Dread, haven't broken through into the cultural zeitgeist in the same fashion, so regardless of their quality they haven't caught as many people's attention. Plus modern gamers hate short vidya, for some reason.
>>7306885531 > 2 > 3 I'm afraid
>>730686912I've played most of them save Metroid 2 and Prime 4 and liked them.
I beat prime 1 on hypermode last week then did a regular run afterwards (used cheat to auto unlock hard on emulator) and basic enemies were boring but bosses were barely different besides being way shorter. Meta Ridley's 2nd phase is so long and it's not hard at all but he keeps you there for a while. Apparently you can Power Bomb Omega Pirate in the ports but I couldn't do that, so he took long as well. Metroid Prime's 2nd phase just seems long no matter what difficulty you're on. Might do a hypermode run of 2 soon but I haven't played it in so long, might do two runs as the devs intended.
>>730686912>original not in A or Bignored your entire stupid zoom zoom list
>>730688235I'm slogging through Dread right now after playing Zero Mission and Metroid Prime after a long series hiatus. Dread so far isn't what I would call "fun" or "good". It's kind of annoying. Metroid Prime and Zero Mission are so good because they are perfect examples of the genre and type. Dread up to the point I'm in is very B-tier
>>730692676>why yes i love grinding health and missiles for 10 minutes before i get to playnah, the original metroid sucksthe ideas were good, but the execution was kinda bad
>>730692849I played 1, 2, Super, Fusion, ZM, and SR back to back and loved all of them but got bored of Dread after half an hour.>aiieee save me from the emmis! At least SA-X only shows up like 3 times. EMMIs show up like every 3 screens and play a fucking cutscene if you touch them.
>>730686912>Why won't you try Metroid games?I've beaten Zero Mission and thought it was mediocre so I never touched the series again
