How often do you use a numpad for gaming?
More than zero, so it's worth having.
Only in two games.
Often.
often enough that I will never even consider buying a tranny keyboard
never, most games don't even use them anyway
any time I have to type numbers
Every day. I use it to switch between classes quickly in tf2.Also, Blockland was ass
>>730693603about 3-4 hours of gametime a day.
Never, but you still can't have it fucking keyboard kikes.
>>730693603I use it for typing numbers not for games
a lot
never, tkl topre for life
>>730693603i use it for emulation and shit like RPG maker etc.
>>730693603use them for every h rpgmaker game pretty often
>>730693603we used to use it for three players on one keyboard back in the old days
Not often, but I like knowing it's there for me.
Msdos games
>>730693603I use it for fighting games
>>730693603I need it for Uplink, the greatest game ever made.
>>730693603I use an MMO mouse so most of my keybinds are through the numpad even though I don't touch the actual keys themselves.
I play many roguelikes so a lot
>The old Exile games were made during that terrible timeframe in which you can't play them anymore without certain windows emulators>Numpad controls won't work because of thisNobody understands my suffering.
Every damn day
>>730693603I have a tenkeyless keyboard
>>730693603I've been playing DROD lately so every single day
>>730695278Soul, what would you play
>>730693603Roguelikes, especially elona+.
>>730693603all the time. you know you can bind them to do whatever you want right??
>>730693603I need it for Ostim in Skyrim
Why the fuck did blender build their whole UI around it?Tempted to get a USB numpad for it
>>730693603I haven't had a numpad for around a decade
>>730693603Depends entirely on the game. Most M+KB games don't need it. Some games are more like KB+KB, and that's where the numpad gets a lot of use.
>>730693603Why is your numpad upside down?? 789 goes on the top row.
Any time I do basic math. I hate keyboards that don't have a numpad
>>730693603Whenever I play a GTA game since it's the default controls for flying
>>730699396You can pop they keys out and rearrange them. I thought everyone knew this.
>>730699524That doesn't change the orientation of the arrows printed on the keys though
>>730693603All the time, that's how you fly on GTA.
>>730694686>for emulationHuh? What kind of games?
When I'm too lazy to use a controller for my emulated games. I map all face buttons to the number pad, kind of like a Sega Six Pad layout. Secondary Shoulder Buttons sit on 7 and 9. D-pad on WASD.Kill ZXC Arrow keys users
>>730693603>>730699821this and>>730694686>>730699839not him but wasd for dpad inputs and 123456 for abxy/L/R or abcxyz for Sega. Thumb on 0 and pinky on Enter for Saturn/PS.
Holy fuck I just realized my keyboard DOES have a numpadSuck it losers
>>730700015>>730700095Okay, but... Why not just use a controller?
Got one of these the other dayPretty good
>>730693603I used to use it to enter my PIN when I logged into windows and occasionally for hotkeys in other applications while I was gaymingIt took me about 3 days to get used to not having one when I bought a smaller keyboard and now I value the extra space for my mouse moret. FPS unc
I'm left handed and quite autistic.I love how everything on the right side is neatly grouped. Here is a generic example for how I setup every game
>>730693603>>730700386I have more options for hotkeys too because the 70% I bought is programmable and the function button is way more useful that way, which is pretty much the only reason I didn't downsize sooner lol
>>730700439I would be interested in seeing someone who's used to that layout play a game with it, I feel like it'd be really useful in some games
>>730700235Are you fucking blind? Illiterate? Is your text to speech broken? Try re-reading my post, moron.
>>730700235I use both but for different games
>>730700235I don't always have a controller handy when I have my laptop. Sometimes I'm too lazy to find a USB cable for my controller or unpair it from my living room PC, my laptop or my main rig to use it on another computer. That and I still have a lot of original hardware, so if I want to use a controller, I'll bust out the real system.
>>730700671>Sometimes I'm too lazy to find a USB cable for my controller or unpair it from my living room PC>if I want to use a controller, I'll bust out the real system
>>730700095Oh neat. Never considered using it like that, thanks anon
I wish I had a separate numpadit's gay how overpriced they are targeted at keyboard autists tho
>>730693603My keyboard doesn't have one so never. It's never been prohibitive not to have one so I'm good without.
>>730693603I play a ton of muds, actual dungeon crawlers and actual roguelikes so about 75% of the time
>>730699109why not just get a non-tranny keyboard that's actually made for productivity
>>730700235turn based rpgs feel better on a keyboard
>>730700817There's a difference between being in the mood for some Megaman and being in the mood to have a Super Nintendo nostalgia kick.
>>730701014It's great for productivity, if you're a programmer, which is my day jobIt sucks for Blender which is my hobby
>>730700439It's awkward for a left hand unless you put your keyboard way off to the side. And the big gap in the middle is basically wasted space. Arrow keys, Num0, Num., and NumEnter are the GOAT left-handed hentai RPG layout though.
I used to use it when I was into MMORPGs but nowadays I just use it for accounting since I'm used to dialing up numbers on a calculator.
Loadout quickswitching in TF2 and for playing SFX through soundpad
>>730701102This is true anon, you're right
1 to select courier/7 to open shop on dota2and ultra scuffed multiplayer on snes emulator with the cousins using a single keyboard.
>>730698812all games should look like this
>>730693603Fairly often
>>730693603Not much, but I do use it for typing numbers quite a bit
>>730700302What does the dial do?
>>730693603I use it like every other day. You do something that is not playing vidya with your PC, don't you, anon?
>>730693603All the fucking time in Warframe and Elite dangerous. Also for side scrollers.
>>730699109I've never in my life used a numpad with blender
>>730701496>You do something that is not playing vidya with your PC, don't you, anon? How else would he make the fucking post dumbass
>>730701552Other than gaming and use a fucking browser to shitpost in the 4chins and on reddit.
>>730701552Obviously with the DS browser
>>730693603often
>>730701471it Dougs.
I literally only use it for DJMax
I often use it for typing numbers and it's a fairly good place for binding different actions in games
>>730693603Basically never. When I used to play ARMA/DayZ everyday. That's why I keep it on the left-side of my keyboard or don't have it at all.
>>730693603>bri'ish numpadCringe
>>730693603Its pretty much essential when I play Mech games or Roguelikes. Outside those two genres not much.
>>730693603I've only ever used that shit for mods. Lately, I'm only using it to control the free cam for the sf6 ultrawide mod.
Keyboards without a numpad are a shitty fad
>>730693603everyday, free extra keybinds
>>730693603I only ever use it when I need to type a bunch of numbers for any reason. Not really for gaming
