There aren't nearly as many mangaka who made a singular hit then went on to solely work on character designs, Kubo is unironically the only one who kind of did this but Bleach is dogshit. Kishimoto for instance just still fucking does Naruto 2 (not to suggest he's a remotely decent artist) but a lot of mangaka for WSJ just burn the fuck out after finishing or make it their living after hitting big

Legendary Manga don't even get made anymore. Not saying Manga isn't good it just seems like you don't really have manga that create legendary moments to thrive on.
