I knocked out Trails of Cold Steel I–IV from last month into this month. That’s four whole games and the volume is insane, but honestly I had a good time with it overall, and it definitely made me wanna jump into the next one. BUT I have to say some things started cracking me up. Like, you beat the boss, and then the cutscene kicks in and suddenly your party is on their knees like you’re about to get wiped. And then, every time, reinforcements show up from some super dramatic high ground (why is it always the top of a cliff??) Also everyone is constantly doing the whole “I’ve made my peace / I’m prepared for anything” thing way too often, there are so many “………ah………”, and how many times is Claire gonna show up like “Oh, long time no see”?? Girl, we saw you like yesterday. Anyway yeah, I’ve got a lot to poke fun at, but it was really enjoyable.
