Honestly, CV keeps getting shafted but it was *absolutely* mainline at the time-hell, it originally carried the "3" title before Nemesis swooped in. So yeah, that bumps Chris and Claire up another notch. People just memory-hole it because it's not numbered, but it had more RE DNA than RE6 did.
