>The Telvanni Isles will be redone someday
I find that a little sad, I like how isolated and different they are from the more modern areas. Tamriel Rebuilt is like a modding time machine where you can just wander the different eras of the modding scene and sometimes you want the more basic style of the 2000s.

yeah I started a new game but with tribunal and bloodmoon activated this time, also playing as a full mage this time since magic is the most fun part of morrowind
>>
>>730723763
They unironically were. The Tribunal brought a millennia of peace and power to Morrowind and the Dunmer thrived under it. They were the only one to resist complete control of Tiper Septim and the Numidium and resist joining the Empire in all but name. They were prevented from the magical nuking of what happened to Summerset because of the power of the three.
>>
>>730717710
i'm having a propa ganda alright
>>
>>730723763
It kinda was, the Tribunal managed to resist all three Tamrielic Empires (and only signed the armistice because Dagoth Ur came back at the wrong time) and they organised Morrowind in a functional state from a bunch of tribes.
>>
>>730723890
>full mage
Nice. I'm nearing the end of my first pure mage playthrough in a while and it's been fun. Combat is a bit repetitive with the one or two effective spells against tougher enemies, but being able to fly/unlock things/persuade people/breathe underwater forever/heal sick characters immediately is so cool and useful.
I recommend using a mod to delay Tribunal until later when it will make sense (Yeah, Helseth would absolutely put a hit out on a nobody fresh off the boat) and the mod to balance Bloodmoon because fuck me that island has wolves stronger than fucking Dagoth Ur otherwise.
>>
>>730724097
Yeah it can be repetitive, but at least with magic you can experiment creating stupid spells and try to break the game
I played vanilla OpenMW as advised by a couple of anons here, now I installed the IHeartMorrowind modlist for this playthrough, I'll keep the balance vanilla tho because I want to keep the original experience challenge-wise

Vivec doesn't consider himself responsible for it but Vehk, the mortal version. It's been so long and there has been possibly multiple different timelines that for him it's not the same. Sotha Sil seems somewhat remorseful though. Almalexia is just an evil backstabber from start to finish, however her cover as some kind of caring mother goddess is brilliant.
>>
>>730717710
But Sotha Sil didn't rule over anything, he hid away and he used his god powers to pursue his research into the workings of the universe. His motives weren't entirely selfish. Meanwhile Almalexia is just an irredeemably evil bitch though and through. Vivec would be somewhere in between.
>>
>>730725272
Vivex and Almalexia are both pure irredeemable shit because both are psychopathic murderers and lie outright about it, going so far as to say "it wasn't actually me but the me of the past who is a different me that right now but yeah he definitely did it." Actual guilty driven insane babble, and the dungmer worship this thing.

Vivec gets redeemed because he gives you Wraithguard knowing exactly what you're about to do with it. He willingly pulled the plug on the Tribunal once and for all.

The meteor shit isn't in the game and it was written by Kirkbride years after the fact in a fit of manlet rage so I won't comment on it.
>>
>>730725336
Vivec has gone full Buddhist, and now lives in the moment and thinks the past is a false illusion. Sotha Sil lives only for the future and isn't able to enjoy existence anymore, and says he envies the player's indecision in ESO. Almalexia lives in the past and only wants her god powers back by any means necessary. It's pretty brilliant writing in that sense. You sort of see how they are physically depicted as well. Alma looks like a Chimer from the past, Sotha a Dunmer in the future, and Vivec encompasses both.

It is and it's my favourite area of TES lore. The tribunal and Morrowind are just fantastic with their lore, writing, history etc. It has made TES the great series it is and it's a shame that other races haven't gotten the same level of love as the Dunmer but as a proud Dunmerfag, I ain't mad.

Vivec doesn't care because he is dying anyway. He passes the karma onto the player's shoulders and makes it your decision to judge whether you think he is responsible for it or not. In a way he is purifying himself one way or another. He does fight back but that's more like a natural reaction than anything. I think he knows you can go back in time (reload game) and kill him.

Nerevar is dead and the Nerevarine holds no memories of his life. It's not even clear if the Nerevarine is a reincarnation of Nerevar in any way. The prophecy is all just actions, the only seemingly mystical aspect is immunity to disease, which could be occurring for any number of reasons in any number of individuals unrelated to the prophecy.
Azura won through attrition, actively pushing numerous failed incarnates through the motions since the first era. She could have just kept going indefinitely, assuming Dagoth didn't finish Akulakhan anytime soon. Even without her, the Tribunal would have lost to Dagoth as their powers waned, it's just that she'd prefer to keep the Dunmer alive since they worship her.

>>
>>730727590
Even that isn't 100% clear because NPCs won't actually die if they equip it. There's no lore about somebody dying after trying to wear it, so we have no idea whether or not it's true. It's also given to you by Azura in the cavern of the incarnate so nobody would have even had access to it. Azura wouldn't have given it to you if she thought it'd kill you. It can be seen as just another tool for her to use, giving this Nerevarine more legitimacy in the eyes of the Dunmer and making it more likely for him to accomplish the goals she's set out.
>>
>>730726934
That's your predisposition, not his. Vivec feels like he is not the same person anymore. Feeling sorry at this point is tartamount to not having moved past it and denying his personal development as a god. There is a fine line between lying and being sincere in his case.

is a cope they used to ease the transition of worship, while their forms in the game represent the most degenerated version of the 3 gods I think you could argue that for a time they did do a better job at caring for morrowind than the daedra. not that it's a very high bar to cross.
that said they are still massive fucks in their own ways and I happily kill them in any playthrough where I bother with the maid story and expansions
>>
>>730727197
Kirkbride said
>""The premise of the game came from Kurt and me — the idea that you were a reincarnation of somebody. You’re kind of a nobody in Daggerfall, and we wanted to go the other way, where you were a big deal. I think Ken hated that at the time, because he really loves the idea of the stranger, and I totally get the appeal of that. Ken’s contribution, which made it sing, was to say, “OK, if we do this, then we never confirm it.” So we never outright say, “Yes, you are [the prophesied hero, the Nerevarine].” Even in the last, final battle with the bad guy, you can go, “No. I’m not. Everybody thinks I am, but I’m not.” "
So for all intents and purposes you are, you're just given the option to say you're not. Also you walk the walk and talk the talk, something something Mantling.

I can understand why they took them away, you have to keep people being able to teleport out of any situation whenever you write any one scenario because even a Lv.2 Adventurer would have access to an Amulet of Recall and there's only so many times you can write "this room is magically protected against teleportation" (like the Thieves Guild in Old Ebonhart in TR, when you steal the Death Mask of Katariah). Levitation was a result of the 360, although I'm not entirely convinced they couldn't just make it so that when you try to levitate over a city wall it loads the interior cell the same way it would if you were to interact with the main gate.

More importantly do you think he keeps the retarded hunchbacked one locked up somewhere or did he just kill it.

Boethiah's sphere of treachery and secret plots and the like are only really a facet of their overall essence. What Boethiah really represents is victory at any cost. Not even just 'might makes right' but the absolute willpower to know that you are right and will do absolutely anything at all to prove it.

Boethiah is the main architect of Velothi society for a reason.

No, why did (they) do this? What is the reasoning behind nuking the most popular area of the franchise? Was it so Skyrim had no competition?

Todd'll probably do something similar to Skyrim later.
>>
>>730730882
It was thematically fitting and also Kirkribe didn't want anybody else doing anything with his darling.
>>

did molag bal ever get his dick back from vivec?
>>
>>730731116
No. It was used to beat up liggers in Skyrim
>>
>>730730882
all kirkbride's doing. unlike the situation with fallout he nuked it himself so no one else would do it later anyway in a way he didn't like.

>kirkbride's doing
don't do drugs kids otherwise you'll nuke your baby forever
>>
>>730730882
Because it's good storytelling and thematically appropriate. It's one of the more interesting things Todd did with the lore. Not everything is a conspiracy. Todd does hate New Vegas though.

>>730731310
I wish it was interesting. Skyrim is hugely fucking inconsistent about the state of Morrowind in the 4th Era. The Red Year ranges from an Nirn-shattering catastrophe to a minor inconvenience depending on who you talk to.

Have fun with basic bitch castle building in High Rock in TES6 lol.
>>
>>730730882
Dunmer thrive in adversity. Their homeland being nuked, and becoming stronger for it, is literally their entire philosophy.
>>
>>730731310
Todd didn't do it, Kirkbride did
As a matter of fact Todd barely ever did anything related to narrative or story aside from approving or disapproving other people's input stop fucking talking about him as if he were a writer of any kind
