30+ year old thread, what vidya have you played this past week? Give it a quick rate too
>>
100%'d MegaMan starforce 2 because I hate myself
>>
Tactics Ogre Reborn. It's... actually kind of dull? Since you can't swap job skills, class customisation is limited and battles are pretty repetitive (the reused maps don't help). The story is also dull, at least on the "Denam a good boy route" I've been doing. It's two or three maps of, "I want the bounty on your head, Denam!" followed by a map of "something has happened in the wider war, go check it out." The dialogue is good but it too is repetitive about the whole, "war require compromises/sacrifices".
>>
I already posted on yesterday's thread. There's nothing new to report.

Been doing a few runs of Dead Cells every evening. Currently at 2BC but it still feels managable, I just keep dying to my own dumb mistakes. The game is great, quite possibly the best roguelike I have played so far.

Juggling Danganronpa 2 and Morrowind.

I'm enjoying Danganronpa 2.
I had some contentions with the writing of the first game, foremost with the way it handled giving clues and information to the player, but the second one is a lot better.

Morrowind I'm also playing for the first time.
Excellent game, deserves its reputation.
I'm 60 hours in playing 100% vanilla and haven't encountered any bugs which is a first for playing a Bethesda game for me.
>>
Blue Prince.
Reaching room 46 was fine but endgame puzzles are a difficulty spike and require english as a first language, so I dropped it at some point, not to mention the random ess that can't be overcome.
Game is cozy and with a cool concept tho.
I'd say it's a 7.5/10

I found the story to be insufferable, Denam is such a dull nobody of a character and Catiua was so infuriating in both story and in combat that I felt immense relief when she pissed off when I picked a bad boy dialogue option. Never finished the game because it was such a boring ride, only held together by some kino moments in combat when the plan comes together.

>>730718389
Finishing Yumia, it's alright but the story is kinda nothingburger. Isla is cute so that keeps me going. Also getting back into Cavalry Girls, on day 14 of level 17 challenge mode. It's nice and hectic. Great game overall, have had a ton of fun with it. Lastly got my GFL1 grind, 8-3E currently and Deep Dive next on the menu.

>Magic the Gathering Arena
My regular game atm. Mtg is in a dire state buy I always enjoyed it digitally on the side for it's low tempo gameplay for us boomers. Usually play around 30-60 minutes a day just to do the daily quests/wins.
>Battlefield 6
My friend who I usually play with has been busy the last few weeks and the generic run n shoot formula has really ran it's course for me so I only log in every few days and work off my quests. Kinda boring desu and I'd be open to play another shooter in this slot instead.
>Megabonk
Randomly decided to buy it after watching a streamer play and absolutely suck and at it. The gameplay really seems to be my thing since I unlocked 90% of stuff and finished the final forest & desert boss after just a few days. Since there's no dangling carrot now anymore I kinda stopped playing it since simple highscore hunts are kinda boring.
>Golf with your friends
Some friends randomly decided to bust out this oldie but goldie over the holidays and we played a few casual rounds here and there. Minigolf always will be timeless, had some really fun sessions with the lads.

Morrowind, Tamriel Rebuilt. - 10/10. I love this thing, I'm thinking of making a new character for the new year but for now I'm still playing my Wizard and am close to finishing all the stuff he can do in Narsis.
Batman Arkham City - 9/10. The best superhero game for the best superhero. My only problem are the Riddler challenges. You mean to tell me I need to get almost 200 medals using FOUR different characters to fully complete this game? One of which only features in the challenge mode so you get no practice with him? Fuck off. Otherwise this is pretty great.

Because you no longer have to impress people anymore nor do you have to feel like you have to chase the trends of your youth to fit in with your peers. You are free from the shackles of cliques and caring about how others perceive you.

Anon, it's time to play video games.

>Dead-end minimum wage job, depressed, backstabbed by the retards I thought were friends

The only real issue is I'm in the house all day every day, but I live near a big woodland so I just make a point of wandering that once a weekend before going down the pub.

36 here. Just about to finish up Cronos: New Dawn. It's essentially just a Dead Space clone and aside from a couple cool, unique twists on combat it doesn't really have much of an identity. It feels like a game made up of remnants from every survival horror game you've ever played. And there's not really enough enemy variety to keep it from getting tedious. All that being said though, it's still alright if you like that genre and want a Dead Space clone and the story has some weird ass shit going for it. I'd probably give it a 7/10 overall. Hell is Us is next on my backlog, but Cronos was a nice transition between that and Prime 4. Thx for reading my blog, like and subscribe.
>>

There's a reason nobody ever cared about it except for the terminal "Sakaguchi is my god and everything he does is amazing" nostalgiafags.
>>
>>730721001
Besides few health issues popping up from the decades of neglect, yeah, 100%. My 20s were mostly living from paycheck to paycheck in dead end jobs, filled with anxiety and constant fear for the future. After landing a comfy wfh job during covid and getting promoted couple of times, which coincidentally aligned with me turning 30, everything in my life improved immeasurably. I've stopped giving a fuck, i'm fully focused on my enjoyment, and I've never been happier. Working out, vidya, hanging out with my friends, being a generous 'uncle' to their kids, fully remote job that consists of sending out 2 emails per day and doing nothing else.
Every single problem in my life was fixed 'just like that' by becoming richer. Never believe retards who're trying to gaslight by saying that money doesn't bring happiness.

>but m-muh feminism!

>Code Vein
Not done with it yet, but it'll probably be like a 6. I appreciate the weeb aesthetic, but the gameplay is way jankier than any proper Souls and there's too much forced story stuff getting in the way of me exploring maps and killing bosses.

Finally beat P3: R (8/10). I had dropped FES ages ago, in 2010, because my study abroad trip to South Korea interrupted me and I didn't pick it back up. Then I dropped this one back in Oct 2024 because my Deck started stuttering. Feels good to finish it after so long.

Currently playing Hollow Knight: Silksong (9/10), and Dark Souls Remastered (to take a trip down memory lane. 9.5/10). When I'm done with DS I'm picking Elden Ring back up to do the DLC, which I haven't tried.

Replaying FNV, F3, F4 back to back.
>FNV
Cleared the map but didn't start any of the dlcs. Completed 99% the base game because I fucked up Boone's companion quest's start requirement by leaving him until last. Had fun/10.
>F3
Got all the base game cheevos and completed half the dlcs (BS, MZ, PA). With only 50% of the map done, I was max level with shitloads of ammo and infinite cap, so I lost all motivation to play anymore (compared to NV where I was 42 when I stopped). Has some neat stuff.
>F4
Definitely the worst of the bunch. Full of annoying things that make it unfun to play.
>>
>>730722728
i did that in like 2012 when a cunt boss who never worked a honest day in his life told everyone they'll stay doing inventory until everything is correct and accounted for. as in not warehouse people, everyone is gonna go to the warehouse and count shit in boxes until fuck knows when, tomorrow maybe.
went back to my desk after this, deleted my private stuff (music mostly), logged out, told everyone to take care and went out.
had to testify in court like year later cause they got accused of embezzling funds or whatever, the whole company was a huge shitshow and went under. was pretty satisfying.

I just can’t get enough of Snowrunner. The game is like therapy, super easy to pickup for any length of time, and requires just enough focus where it’s engaging but I can still watch stuff on my other monitor, AND I can play coop. Only real problem is the endless sea of DLC, but the base game has so much content you shouldn’t really think about those before completing most of the base game maps.

I just finished reading Dune. As a child I played Dune II whenever my dad let me, now I wanted to experience reading a sci-fi epic. It was nice, took me a while, but I read it when I had downtime at work. Never saw any of the TV shows or movies, but now I feel that I could watch the movies. Next book I'll read will be The Lurking Fear by Lovecraft.

As for videogames I have been playing PEAK 8/10, Helldivers 2 8/10, Dwarf Fortress 8/10 and UFO 50 7/10.

Physically I feel... Better than I almost ever have. It's weird. Might be because I bought a meat grinder and have begun eating lots more pork minced from sirloin cuts, which have way less fat than one would anticipate pork to have. Tastes better than store bought preminced beef, which is wild since whenever I used to eat preminced pork it would always make me feel nauseous.

Also I hit the gym about 3x a week and have made some nice progress. Nothing visible, but I feel stronger and healthier.

Been playing my usual, an hour or so of fightcade after dinner/before bed. Lately I've been playing 3rd Strike, Super Turbo, and AoF3. Got tired of Arc Raiders, wouldn't mind finding something else to play, but when there isn't a game I'm really into I just get more sleep which is fine, too.
