another mystery game where you compare the shoes
>>730719094is this the game that made jonathan blow sperg out
>>730719094when I started, walked inside and saw that every action like taking a breath cost a minute, I realized this game wasn't made to be fun but tedious, which is fun for failed normalfags and people with the bad kind of autism
>>730719372who did jonathan blow?
>>730719940 mr. sperg out
>>730719546The time limit is absurdly generous, it's just there to discourage you from examining everything and asking every character about every topic (i.e. the actually tedious part of detective games for people with the bad kind of autism (anon))
>>730720657>discourage you from examining everything and asking every character about every topicwhich is dumb because they're actively making you discover less (id est, not what an actual detective would do, so it's dumbed down for normalfags)nothing tedious about having to check everything, it becomes tedious when you have to backtrack ooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrr, just don't make every shoe, sock or stocking be examinable! that way you don't need a time limit > no discouragement > no time wasting > you can just play the game without bullshit useless mechanics!try to respond without namecalling this time, your bad autism is showing
>>730721152Chill out, jonathan blow.
>>730721239I could not care less about who your eceleb is thanks for proving me right mr. low IQ, good day
>>730721152>which is dumb because they're actively making you discover lessNo, it just incentivizes you to use your brain a tiny bit and not go around asking the ostensibly skepitcal and rational lady about exorcisms and fairies for example. Again, as the other anon pointed out, the time limit is extermely comfortable and the only way to fuck it up is to run around the house interacting with every toilet paper roll and newspaper. I had a fun time with this one, the optional mysteries are overall demanding enough that you get to feel like an epic sleuthmaster, but not hard enough to be frustrating. And even if you're a bit of a dummy and don't manage to complete everything, the ending sequence is very doable as long as you're not left with 10+ suspects and no fucking idea what you're doing.
>>730721472>not go around asking the ostensibly skepitcal and rational lady about exorcisms and fairies for examplethat makes sense but,>interacting with every toilet paper roll and newspaper.which is the point I made next. can you tell me if it actually matters to interact with a mundane item at any point in the game or if it's just fluff that could've been removed?
>>730721661>which is the point I made next. can you tell me if it actually matters to interact with a mundane item at any point in the game or if it's just fluff that could've been removed?Mostly fluff, but having those items in the game just contributes a little bit to the immersion. If the house is exclusively populated with items that are relevant to the investigation, it'll just look contrived and cheapen the impact of finding important clues. It's just set dressing and it really doesn't take a lot of thinking to imagine that when you open a desk, "Manuscript letter" is more likely to be useful than "Empty envelopes" or "Stationery". The opening sequence in the lobby is designed specifically to make you understand this, You have a 1 hour time limit to solve a basic investigation in a small area that has a bunch of pointless items, and just a few useful ones.
Any detective mystery games that just crank up the difficulty from the word go?Been playing pic related and also Daemon's Masquerade, they're fun games but I just want a game that'll twist my balls and set me up for failure through big headscratchers until I actually turn my brain on.
>>730721893I understand now and it's completely valid they made things the way they are, I might have to try it again with this in mind. I just absolutely hate time limits and how every (online) game has missable content because things are timed, but I see now that it's not really the case here
>>730722913>I just absolutely hate time limits and how every (online)Yeah I get FOMO hard with stuff like this, but the person who shilled me this game just told me to not worry about the time limit and just play. I did just that and it turned out fine. Didn't manage to complete everything on the first playthrough, but I restarted one immediately after finishing, which went much faster and let me wrap everything up.
>>730719094>spend half an hour outside the manor examining stonework>enter the manor, examine paintings and whatnot>midnight hits>you died, everybody died, you're worse than Himmel>load the autosave>it's 1 minute before midnight??? Fuck you too I guess.
>>730722249minesweeper
>>730722249>I just want a game that'll twist my balls and set me up for failure through big headscratchersShadows of Doubt>until I actually turn my brain onnevermind you would be very angry
>>730719372He spergs out about everything but a quick search says yes. And he'd be right. Seance isn't very good. All these Golden Idol clones, Golden Idol itself included, are so insultingly handholdy.
>>730722249Try Mystery of the Malign. I wouldn't call it ball bustingly hard but it's got a good amount of challenge and you really do need to pay attention to understand what's going on.
>>730721661The time limit and interactions taking time also serves another purpose. Every character has a set schedule. They change places, hide in their rooms and attend lectures and events throughout the day. So the devs could either make it in real time where every second outside of the pause screen would pass time, or they could implement some other system which lets you finish an hour on your leasure.
