If the npcs "arent a big deal" and the reaction to them is so "overblown" and they "arent in the game that much" as the games defenders claim. Then it should be trivial for retro studios to release a patch for the game that provides an option to completely remove all the npcs in the entire game and beat it 100% complete without ever interacting with a single fed. Im not talking about disabling voice lines, I mean I want everything resembling a fed trooper in the whole game completely removed entirely with a single option in the options menu. If they are such a "small part of the game" as ive been told then having a simple switch in the options menu that just deletes them from existence and lets me upgrade my beam without needing a to visit some insufferable disgusting fed to "install" it should be trivial. Retro should be able to launch this patch within a few months and I expect them to do so, because it seems like an incredibly obvious and simple thing to do.

its kinda funny how "metroidvanias" utterly mog the original metroid series especially in the past 20 years
>>

Cope.
>>
>>730723421
I'm not reading all that
>>
>>730723421
There has been a single piece of media in the past 20 years where a character having a retractable helmet was a good thing and every other copycat has just fucked it up since then.
I am going back in time to make sure that Iron Man flops so that we can save modern sci-fi and culture as a whole.
>>730723723
>especially in the past 20 years
That's because only one or two out of the six games that weren't remasters, remakes or bundles were even Metroidvanias and neither Prim3 nor Dread were even fully committed to being Metroidvanias.
>>
>>730723421
They would if it's worth the cost to spend 1-2 months to patch the game to remove the trivial stuff, but they likely won't do it because it's trivial that nobody gives a shit aside from extreme minority of autists like you
>>
Metroid Prime 4 switch 2 hovers around 45-55 used on eBay. The cheapest I’ve seen Kirby Air Riders for was $65 used. Hmmmmm
>>
>>730724870
Nigger brain cant read.
>>
the npcs are the least of the game's problems

the absolute worst aspect of it is the level design, completely unacceptable especially for a metroid prime game, it completely killed any good will I had for the game
>>
I can't stop thinking about how much the team must have spent on modelling, rigging, animating, scripting and voice acting those NPCs. And all of that for the game's detriment.

What a shame.
>>
>>730723421
Getting this assblasted over a game (You) can't play, assclownpedo strikes again
>>
>>730723723
Are you referring to Hollow Knight Silksong? Might be a stupid question but what’s the best selling Metroidvania when compared with Metroid or Castlevania themselves?
>>
>>730724870
Not missing out on much OP is just repeating himself like a broken record carry on

>>730726408
Stop sucking OP’s dick

>>730726482
8 years possibly completely wasted
>>
>>730723723
there's zero game in the genre that surpasses super metroid which is more than 30 year old, also you're brown
>>
>>730723723
They're called hollowvanias now
>>
>>730726518
hollow knight sold 15 million copies, dread is the best selling metroid game in comparison with 3 million copies sold, castlevania did even less

of course these comparisons make no sense because hollow knight was released on every platform under the sun and with all the discounts spent most of its shelf life costing 8 bucks while dread was a switch exclusive and was a full 60 dollar game
>>
>>730726748
Based. Every single """"""Metroidvania""""" I've played has been trash. Actually now that I think about it, the only game I ever refunded on Steam was a Metroidvania. Imitators produce nothing but garbage.

You frase the question like its the ultimate deciding factor to if the game if bad or not which it isn't but no you can't just remove the npcs because theres is 3 escort sections. Once across a bridge in fury green, you bring an upcoming to another npc in flare pool and the mines you have npcs fighting enemies with you basically the whole time.

Reminder that acfag outed himself as someone who lied about playing AC6 on steam, he only played the PS4 version despite claiming to have played it with mods that remove cutscenes.

>>730723421
The NPCs are the least of this game's problems. It's very clear you didn't play it.

Hollow Knight is the epitome of snoy garbage.

schizo thread move on
>>

its funny how zoomers think this exclusively because they missed a wall jump in super metroid while trying to do the speedrun their favorite streamer did on their first playthrough so its CLUNKY

>Eric trying to deviate so he doesn't get found out

Sad

I get the same feelings with this one as with FF16, the game starts amazing, and over time you start to see the cracks, absolutely linear level design, it doesn't have the feelings of other Metroid Prime games of exploring, the big empty room in the middle called the desert, completely unnecessary, the bosses are annoying and bullet sponges but that's not really new, for some reason I hate them more now. I'm just forcing myself to finish it now, wasted potential always feels worse than an actual bad game.

>"arent in the game that much"
You're constantly with at least one of them for 80% of Flare Pool and the Great Mines so this cope read to me as people just not getting far enough in the game yet.

Shocker.

These aren't separate issues. The level design clearly flatlines a lot in sections where your intended to be with an NPC, probably fot pathfinding reasons.
