Not a great reimagining of 2 specifically, but if you can get over that it was a great aligning of classic RE gameplay mechanics and design with the OTS viewpoint. Revelations was sort of barking up that tree already, but 2make finally got there.

Dynamic difficulty is for wusses
The addition of roaming Mr X is 10/10
Enemy randomness ensures replays aren't dull.
Enemy AI is great.
The dogs have random AI pathing JESUS CHRIST it fucks me over in 4th survivor.
4th Survivor is 12/10 and mogs classic 4th.

Fucking terrible trash DE-make.
Wet slap in the faces of every RE-fan that waited nearly 2 decades of the RE2 to get THE REmake treatment.

Shittons of content cuts, worse OST, worse writing, less replay value. It's just as bad as REm3 and 4.

It's extra insulting seeing how it was the HD re-release of the REmake 1 that revived the entire fucking franchise, only for the Crapcum's asshats to instantly go back to TEW / TLOU style over-shoulder slop afterwards.

That's in RE3.
What they removed were most of the street segments, the abandoned factory with Marshalling yards, spiders, crows, crossbow, and proper A/B routes and Zapping mechanic.
And a shittons of planned, promoted new features and areas, that still show up in the concept art you unlock.
