I remember going into Bastion of Twilight 10 man & all the bosses had 25 man values, shit was fucked.
Then every member of our Heroic Deathwing raid group got the mount except me when they stopped raiding, took me like a year of solo'ing before i finally got the drop absolutely dogged

I haven’t played wow since 2012 so I don’t remember the names of anything but I really liked that area that was a gigantic pit and it was a dinosaur jungle and you could get a unique raptor mount by collecting teeth everyday for like a month. It turned into a giant lake after cataclysm and I think that SUCKED

Worgen and Goblins were cool, but changing the leveling world to reflect a story nobody who wasn't already invested in it was a massive mistake. It also just ruined the vibe forever.

What mattered is that they fucked up the comfortable and familiar map just the put in more "content" and story that not many users really cared about. Teenagers and early 20s dudes didn't spend their time in wow pushing the bleeding edge of power and new story the game had. We were in some random area of the map crafting and questing, enjoying time with people in places we liked. Then they tore the earth open and nobody liked hanging out there anymore and we unsubbed.

They quite literally only did that so they could have loremaster achievements for each single Kalimdor/Kingdoms zone, because the original quest lines structure was way too organic and natural for a braindead checklist of dopamine achievements.

It’s wild that FF11 did this way back in 2003 but then designated your starting zone based on class in FF14. Not being able to fully create what you want and starting off with your friends is a really fucking bad model for an MMO. One friend always gets stuck being something they didn’t really want to be

It wasn't hated back then because people were still enjoying WoW because WotLK was overall a very enjoyable experience. Only by the very end of Cata people realized how bad thing really are.

It was the first time they had done class reworks of the magnitude they did in cata.
Most of the accidental genius gameplay mechanics and tech that made it through bc and wotlk were wiped and replaced with really generic, easy to understand stuff.
This trend of retarded, mostly unwanted class gameplay overhauls has continued to varying levels of severity per expac and retail is the worst version of a Ship of Theseus imaginable as a consequence.
