It has been at least 12 years since Microsoft had any good news for its users.
I did the switch a while back.Look it's not convenient. I can make a list of shit linux doesn't do all that well. But I got tired of Windows. Eventually most people will. You have to be quite mentally deficient to consider current Windows a decent product and there's something very stupid to the idea of "resisting change" with perhaps the worst version of Windows ever conceived (10).

Then they will just start pushing for more AI, but slower, so it's the next few generations that will be inundated with it like how we ended up screwing over the younger generations with mobile devices.
If you've never tried to daily drive linux you truly don't know how awful it is to try and have a normal windows experience on it. You have to spend like 3 years minimum getting everything "right" and spending 30 to 40 minutes minimum on any game you play fixing whatever problems arise. Retards will try to convince you these are "quirks" and that you're suppose to enjoy wasting your fucking time every day for some minor shit just because it's fun to type in the fucking terminal or whatever their cope is. Just use LTSC.

>>730739882>You have to spend like 3 years minimum getting everything "right" and spending 30 to 40 minutes minimum on any game you play fixing whatever problems arise.do you fucking live in 2001 or something? I've been using linux daily since 2019 and it took me maybe a week to adjust at most. Any time a game doesn't run out of the box with proton/lutris it usually takes one line copypasted from protonDB into the config on steam's launcher to fix.

I daily drove Mint for 3 months and liked it overall, it was an upgrade over Windows in a few ways, but just those occasional weird Linux issues made me switch back, and they were so hard to fix sometimes. I liked it though, one day I'll try it again but I've been on Windows for about a year and a half now again and I do appreciate the "just werks" about Windows, managed to not have to use an MS account for my build, I'm sure there's telemetry and stuff but I keep it vanilla enough anyways.

>>730742558I don’t know the actual reason but I think it has to do with how programs work. Like in Apple windows, android. Programs either come with everything they need or thru download whateverIn Linux every program shares libraries, so you don’t need to download multiple libraries and you save space. Which is really cool, but also really dogshit because whenever you update things can break because your game needed library 2.4 and not library 2.5At least in Windows I can have a thousand versions of Directx installed and a game will just use the one it needs
>>730742558GPU's, due to their proprietary nature, are black boxes that can only be interacted with using specific interfaces exposed by the manufacturer for this exact purpose (AMD, Intel, Nvdia). Interfacing with the GPU this way is extremely time-consuming and challenging so instead of talking to the GPU directly developers make use of API's that aspract away the details and essentially act as a translator between the developer and the gpu. DirectX developed by Microsoft is one of these api's, the most popular of them all and only available to Windows Developers. And this essentially why games don't just work on Linux. There is also Metal by Apple who are essentially irrelevant in AAA development and only available for OSX and Vulkan by Khronus Group an open standard and the successor to OpenGL also developed by Khronus Group.
>>730739816When you look for a specific file, instead of showing it in the search bar, you will have a 10 line long message of about how it's important to search specific thing, how the ia understand that you're looking for a precise file without giving you the location but instead asking you>Would you like to know it ?Then in the next message the ia will become schizo and hallucinate thing about the location, citing a hard drive that doesn't existThen in the 3rd one it will refuse to work and ask you to pay the premium or wait a day
