Look it's not convenient. I can make a list of shit linux doesn't do all that well. But I got tired of Windows. Eventually most people will. I think the worst part is that the big corps that are pushing AI the most will at some point just declare that they won, even if we won't be anywhere close to the mythical scifi AI that is actual AI instead this Chinese knockoff version we have had for years now. Then they will just start pushing for more AI, but slower, so it's the next few generations that will be inundated with it like how we ended up screwing over the younger generations with mobile devices.

If you've never tried to daily drive linux you truly don't know how awful it is to try and have a normal windows experience on it. You have to spend like 3 years minimum getting everything "right" and spending 30 to 40 minutes minimum on any game you play fixing whatever problems arise. Retards will try to convince you these are "quirks" and that you're suppose to enjoy wasting your fucking time every day for some minor shit just because it's fun to type in the fucking terminal or whatever their cope is. do you fucking live in 2001 or something? I've been using linux daily since 2019 and it took me maybe a week to adjust at most. Any time a game doesn't run out of the box with proton/lutris it usually takes one line copypasted from protonDB into the config on steam's launcher to fix.

I daily drove Mint for 3 months and liked it overall, it was an upgrade over Windows in a few ways, but just those occasional weird Linux issues made me switch back, and they were so hard to fix sometimes.
I liked it though, one day I'll try it again but I've been on Windows for about a year and a half now again and I do appreciate the "just werks" about Windows, managed to not have to use an MS account for my build, I'm sure there's telemetry and stuff but I keep it vanilla enough anyways.

Windows is gonna be rebranded as CopilotOS, they're gonna announce this by the end of this year.
Removing copilot will be synonymous with deleting system32 (which you won't even be allowed to do anymore, since all your file managing will be made via copilot and it will refuse to delete itself).

In less than half an hour, your gf became your wife. I'd say linux is very fast, if not the most productive.
>>
>>730742558
I don’t know the actual reason but I think it has to do with how programs work.

Like in Apple windows, android. Programs either come with everything they need or thru download whatever

In Linux every program shares libraries, so you don’t need to download multiple libraries and you save space. Which is really cool, but also really dogshit because whenever you update things can break because your game needed library 2.4 and not library 2.5

At least in Windows I can have a thousand versions of Directx installed and a game will just use the one it needs
>>
>>730742558
GPU's, due to their proprietary nature, are black boxes that can only be interacted with using specific interfaces exposed by the manufacturer for this exact purpose (AMD, Intel, Nvdia). Interfacing with the GPU this way is extremely time-consuming and challenging so instead of talking to the GPU directly developers make use of API's that aspract away the details and essentially act as a translator between the developer and the gpu. DirectX developed by Microsoft is one of these api's, the most popular of them all and only available to Windows Developers. And this essentially why games don't just work on Linux. There is also Metal by Apple who are essentially irrelevant in AAA development and only available for OSX and Vulkan by Khronus Group an open standard and the successor to OpenGL also developed by Khronus Group.
>>
>>730739816
When you look for a specific file, instead of showing it in the search bar, you will have a 10 line long message of about how it's important to search specific thing, how the ia understand that you're looking for a precise file without giving you the location but instead asking you
>Would you like to know it ?
Then in the next message the ia will become schizo and hallucinate thing about the location, citing a hard drive that doesn't exist
Then in the 3rd one it will refuse to work and ask you to pay the premium or wait a day

If history, both recent and ancient, should teach you anything, it's that the definition of law-abiding citizen changes at the drop of a pin. You can be made into an enemy of the state for whatever reason the government determines necessary, and given the private partnerships being aggressively established by the current administration, corporations will have more of a say than ever in what constitutes risky behavior.

Okay but what’s wrong with moving to Rust

C and especially C++ are a nightmare to work with, and dangerous to use with the amount of vulnerabilities

The AI and algorithm parts in the paper are shit though

I don't know if Canada got a different class of Indians that act like Pakistanis but the ones I grew up around just weren't violent, you can argue they are basically the same country but I saw a huge difference. You can also check Scandinavian (I think it's Danish) crime stats to see there's a big difference, Indians commit violent crime on the level of an immigrant from a poor eastern European country, from Pakistan it's on the level of an African or middle eastern one.

This kind of tech enshittification isn't breaking any law but it takes a level of shamelessness and amorality that either comes from western psychopaths or now I'm realising, the third world. These Indian CEOs don't act like psychopaths the way the white ones do, they just sound like retards yet their corporate behaviour is psychopathic.

Rust "makes sense" in the most evil of ways for replacing free and open source GPL licensed software with MIT licensed alternatives to pave the way for the future corporate takeover of those projects.
Microjeet pooware is already closed source, so rewriting is rust has no benefit.
In both cases you'd be replacing tried and true well tested code that just works, but in the former you at least get something in return, if very evil.
Microjeet doesn't benefit from the rewrite in any way. It's just marketing and they're gonna end up remaking everything in React anyway.
>C and especially C++ are a nightmare to work with, and dangerous to use with the amount of vulnerabilities

do you really know those demons?
the regedit thing is from an MS knowledgebase article on how to disable auto updates.
but what programs are actually using the mysterious and cryptic keys you are putting in there?
and why do people complain that their machine still auto updates after doing this?

the push for copilot in everything is a direct response to the internet being essentially mined out of training data whilst starting to fill up with slop that degrades models, so the next best place to get training data is directly from users using programs integrated with ai agents even if users aren't actually using the ai tools.
>>
>>730750041
